"Let me ask you girls! Can water or earth move faster than lightning?" she asked as she pointed one hand towards the crowd to her right and the other towards Toph.

"Hey, hey! That girl is crazy!" "Heroes take her down!"

"Everyone stay calm!" Eye-Slip tried to prevent panic ensuing within the crowd that Azula was pointing at. If there's a stampede, more people could die.

"Toph, I'll protect you. Protect everyone else!" She readied the water in her pouch.

Azula quickly switched targets from Toph and blasted the bolt of lightning from her left hand towards the left-hand side crowd.

Toph had slammed her hands into the ground to raise the entire earth underneath them, but it wasn't fast enough. Katara raised a water wall in front of Toph. Azula sent the second blast towards Toph. The crowd watched in horror as the heroes tried to react.

"Thunder Drum!!" "Shield Deck!" "Slip Piercer!"

The crowd watched in horror as the streets went white with the flash of lightning. People closed their eyes awaiting their incineration. But those who didn't could only watch in awe as the bolt collided with a glowing white body, the receiver gritting their teeth as they took the bolt head on.

Katara's water wall quickly turned into ice which shattered as Azula's second bolt tore through it. A deck of cards appeared a second or two later to form a shield in front of the girls. Almost simultaneously, Azula was punched downwards, pushing her out of the way of two sharp oil beams which tore through a nearby streetlight.

As soon as the princess slammed into the car, water streams burst forth from underground from both sides, surrounding her immediately an encasing her in ice. And just after that, the clown touched her face, singing "I got you!!"

Gon landed in the middle of the road and a flash of lightning followed after him, shooting down from the point of the lightning collision and spinning around him so that they were back to back. It was Killua.

A bit earlier

Gon and Killua dashed over the rooftops across seven city blocks with the latter carrying his sister in his arms before stopping. Gon looked out over the city as Killua put his sister down. Across the cityscape, lights of sirens flickered over many streets, and smoke and fire wracked different places. The place was in chaos, with people shouting for heroes. Towards the beach, he could see a giant lady engaged in a big battle, and from the sounds and smells he was perceiving, there were many similar battles going on.

"You kept up with me," Killua said, interrupting his train of thought. "I wasn't using my godspeed or anything, but I'm impressed." A wry smile appeared on his face as he focused his cat-like eyes. "You learned Nen again?"

Gon turned to his friend, beaming. "After speaking to Ging, I decided to work very hard to get to where I was before. I've only got back the basics though."

Killua too had a big smile on his face. "Well don't fall behind. Because I've been training hard, waiting for you."

The ground shook a bit, drawing Gon's attention from their conversation back to the city. The chaos and madness reminded him of the last time they were in Yorknew. It was eerily familiar. "Do you think the Phantom Troupe is involved?"

"Ha! They better watch out then. I'm so much stronger than last time," Killua bragged. His friend's mind was however preoccupied. He sniffed through the air.

"I don't recognize anyone!"

"Don't ignore me!!" Killua shouted. He noted Gon's curiosity. "There's probably hunters at those fights. If we head there, we can find out where we are." Gon nodded in agreement.

"Big brother, I'm scared," Alluka muttered.

"Don't worry. I'll protect you!" Killua told her affectionately.

"Should I scout ahead? I can check if it's safe," Gon offered.

"It's much safer to travel together," Killua said as Alluka climbed onto his back. "Let's head to one of the smaller fights. We can observe from a distance and assess the situat.... Hey, wait up!! Idiot!"

Gon had already started heading over towards the most flashy fight, where blue flames were appearing sporadically. Not to be outpaced, Killua caused a little glow discharge to appear around him momentarily before zapping to join his friend.

"I almost forgot how fast you are even without Nen!" Killua noted.

It only took them a few seconds to travel about 2km to the next battlefield, crossing the length of four city blocks.

When the kids arrived, Azula was on the car and Toph and the others were in the middle of the road.

"They look around our age," Gon noted, referring to the girls.

Killua scanned around, noticing the adults in costumes. "Are those...superheroes? Why did one of them have to be a clown?"

"Do you think that's what hunters in this country do? Dress like superheroes?" Gon wondered.

"Let's just watch them from here and see how things unfold," Killua said, letting his sister down as they watched behind the low walls on the roof.

They heard Azula's rant after Toph's failed capture and when she created lightning, Killua stood up from underneath the roof.

"Wow! She can make lightning? I bet she can charge me up for days," Killua mused looking over at Gon who looked ready to spring into action. He grabbed his friend's hand.

"You won't survive being hit by lightning you know?" he reminded. "But I will."

Gon looked at his friend, a puzzled look on his face.

"Oh yeah, I raised the limit to how much charge I can store in my nen over the last year. It's pretty cool," Killua explained. "I'll show you."

"Thunder Drum," Killua shouted as he appeared above the crowd with his godspeed to block Azula's lightning bolt and Gon used the distraction to punch her from above into the car, intent on knocking her out. The two boys landed on the ground rejoining each other after completing their task.

"Did that child just absorb a lightning bolt?" Eye-Slip wondered.

"Kids these days are crazy," the Dark Magician muttered, shaking his head.
