Chapter 8 - The Might of All-Might

"Hey hey hey! Are you strategizing in front of your enemy?" All-might asked. "What a rookie mistake." He cracked his knuckles.

"He's coming!" Shikamaru said.

Insect Jar! Shino released his insects much faster in all directions, swirling around like with Neji's rotation.

All-Might shot towards them. "Texas smash!" All-might threw a forward punch blasting away all of Shino's insects in an instant.

Fang over fang!! Kiba thought as he and his clone shot through the air into the pro-hero's body almost instantly. Rotating their bodies, they delivered several blows on him. He thrust his hand upward stopping one of the rotations and grabbing Kiba by the neck.

Shadow possession jutsu! At that range, Shikamaru's shadows caught the pro-hero before he could even react. "Now's your chance. Run!!"

Sakura and Ino took Lee and started to run. "Hinata, what are you doing?" she shouted, rushing back to pull the frail girl who also stood paralyzed in her tracks.

Ninja Art: Beetle Sphere! Shino thought, completely covering the pro-hero in beetles that poured from both of his arms like water.

"Choji!" Shikamaru called out.

Expansion Jutsu! Choji thought, performing the hand seals to obtain a very rotund size. "Human Boulder!" he shouted as he stuck his head, arms and legs into his body. He pushed chakra through those parts, propelling forward at high speeds like a rolling boulder and smashing into the pro-hero.

Shikamaru released All-might just before Choji hit him. Even though he was being restrained by Shino's insects, he still managed to grab Choji, threatening to stop the rolling boulder.

"Not happening!" Tenten shouted. Rising Tide Dragon!! She performed her hand seals, pulling out a scroll from her side and swinging it open so that a barrage of explosive tagged kunai flew towards the hero.

"Oklahoma Smash!" All-Might shouted after flinging Choji into the air. He whirled around wildly in the air, pushing Shino's insects away as well as all the kids who were close. All of Tenten's kunai went off in a powerful explosion which was repelled by his whirling.

"Nice quirk you have there!" All-might directed at Shikamaru, blasting towards him at an insane speed.

"Get out of the way!" Kankuro shouted, using Crow to pull Shikamaru back by the jacket, whilst sending Ant flying towards the hero.

All-Might destroyed the puppet's core with a single punch, sending the fragments of the puppet flying all around. Kankuro pulled all strings in his gambit. All the "broken parts", which were Ant's legs and arms revealed their blades at that instant shooting inwards towards the pro-hero. He blocked them all, and the blades were unable to pierce through his hardened muscles, leaving several flesh wounds though. He yanked on the chakra threads when they bundled up closer to him, sending Kankuro flying towards him. Kankuro was punched in the belly to send him a bit into the air before he was smashed into Shino who had readied to attack again and the two were sent flying into the waves.

"Choji!!" "Shino!!" Ino and Hinata exclaimed respectively.

Wash, Woods, and a regular-sized mountain lady had arrived on the scene.

"They're just a bunch of children," mountain lady noted. "He's not pulling back punches."

"Knowing him, he probably is," Wash said. "Those kids are more durable than I thought. And having various quirks means it's harder for any single hero to counter them all."

"Except if you're All-Might. Then it's just blow everything away." Woods' voice had a hint of jealousy in them.

"I wouldn't be able to hit a child like that," Mountain lady noted.

"Which is exactly what the villains were probably counting on." Wash looked on at the battle. "They're doing much better than anyone would have expected against him, even if he's holding back. He can't risk killing kids that young. And he can only focus his attacks away from the city to avoid any casualties. With these handicaps, these kids could probably kill people who matched poorly into one of their abilities." Wash's last comment seemed to be directed at Woods, whose branches had been a poor match against the sand and the bugs.

"Regardless, we should make ourselves useful. "Woods rushed towards the outskirts of the battle. "Let's focus on detaining them. Wash, trap them!"

Pre-emptive binding lacquer Chain prison! Hinata, Ino, Sakura, and Lee who were on the outskirts were caught off-guard by Kamui Wood's attack, binding their torsos with his large entanglement. Lee had both his arms caught completely. Simultaneously Wash sent several bubbles to capture Choji, Shino, and Kankuro.

His bubbles also managed to capture Temari, and went for Tenten and Shikamaru too. As Tenten sidestepped, she was slammed in the side, pushing her right into a bubble. Shikamaru stopped in his tracks, removing his kunai throwing them at the pro-hero. All-might dodged them trivially blasting straight through them.

Shadow Possession Jutsu!! Shikamaru thought as soon as the hero was within his range, causing his shadows to shoot towards the hero. All-might sidestepped, but almost instantly, the tags on the kunai he had through before went off, creating a great light behind the hero which shot his shadows right into Shikamaru's, catching the hero. Before the boy could act however, All-might swiped his hand through the air, casually breaking Shikamaru's hold on him.

Within the pit, the loudmouth of the Konoha stood frozen in his tracks. His memories flashed to Haku and Zabuza where Kakashi had been there to save them. He remembered Orochimaru in the forest of death, when Sasuke rose to fight. He had faced Neji, Gaara, and Kabuto and won. They were all impossible fights but he had won. This one was different though. This was raw power! Maybe the pervy sage could win? Maybe if he called Chief Toad? He couldn't move a muscle in his body though. He could hear all the commotion above but he hadn't moved since it started. This was like nothing he had ever faced.

Back on the streets, the crowds were getting restless.

"What's taking so long?" "How are we supposed to get any sleep with all this noise?"

"I thought All-Might was handling it?" one man said.

"I heard from the police that those he's fighting are barely teenagers," a woman whispered to the man.

"Yeah, well, if they're villains he should just kill them," another man in the crowd chimed in. "They've laid their beds. Why do we have to lie in it?"

"He can't just kill children?! He's the symbol of peace and hope. Most of his fans are children."

"Clearly not these ones."

Naruto was knocked in the head by something hard and grainy, bringing him out of his trance.

"What...what...are you doing Naruto?" Gaara's weak voice questioned from the ground. The vessel of the one-tailed beast pushed himself off the sand, revealing his crumbling sand armor. "I thought...you saved your friends...no matter what!"

Gaara stood up on the sand, almost stumbling but managing to keep his balance. "You... you...taught me that I can forge my own...in the light!" The sand beneath Naruto began to rise, sending him closer to the surface. "Now...I will show you...your power in darkness!"
