"Hey... it's Charger Boy!" "Really? He's here?!" These were some of the comments from the receptionists. The lady who made the last comment couldn't care less. She focused on arranging several papers on her desk.
The older male receptionist dashed next to Killua, pulling out his phone to take a picture with him. Killua pulled out his tongue, making a quirky smile. The man turned. "Oh, you were there too right! You're the punchy boy and the girl who raised the earth! It would be so cool to be like you."
He tried to pull in both Gon and Toph into his picture, the latter tapping the earth with her foot to move her out of the way. The man took his picture with the other two anyway.
His commotion had drawn the attention of some of the minor heroes on the floor. These were the ambitious heroes, the up-and-comers, many of whom were seeking to either team up with the greatest established heroes, or hitch their wagon to newer and rapidly rising heroes, preferably those who hadn't been discovered by the better pros.
They turned to the three with greedy eyes: a girl who controls the ground, a strong feral boy, and most impressive of all, the boy able to take on two lightning bolts head one with a big smile on his face.
"Time to head out, guys," Killua informed the others.
"I don't really like big crowds," Toph said.
Before they could run however, they were surrounded on all sides, the many rookies and minor heroes shouting different offers to them and trying to hand them their cards. They were all back-to-back, trying to prevent themselves from being jostled by the crowd.
"What do you think? Shock them all?" Killua wondered.
"Katara would be so mad!!" Toph chuckled. "I could sink them, maybe?"
"The Clowns who saved us yesterday said not to use our Nen in public," Gon reminded.
"But who cares what those clowns have to say? It's not like they're around."
"First to get back to Katara without using Nen wins?" Gon proposed.
Both Killua and Toph smiled.
"Erh... you do know I need my feet to see right?"
"Go!!" Gon declared.
"Charger Boy will join whoever can touch him," Toph announced in a loud voice to the crowd, disappearing into it as the crowd rushed past her. Gon took advantage of this too, chuckling as he sprung into the air, above most of the crowd.
"Idiots!! No fair!!" Killua snapped at the other two as they disappeared.
Katara had moved Alluka off the floor. She thought it best that they stayed closer to the entrance of the Disaster Relief Department in case Upchuck came back. She and Alluka were standing around when I-Got-You and Dark Magician appeared from the direction of the Police Department. They, like many of the more serious pro-heroes, had noticed the ruckus on the main floor. Whilst Dark Magician wanted them to investigate, I-Got-You just wanted to be out of the WHA and back on the streets patrolling.
It was when they saw Killua jump out of the crowd and disappear that his interests was piqued. "I guess you're changing your mind then?" the Dark Magician asked.
I-Got-You studied the patterns of movement of Killua and the others, scanning around the lobby and noticing Katara and Killua around the corner. "Yes, but we're not jumping in with all the other riffraff. There's our answer."
Katara and Alluka were sitting around.
"Big Sis Katara...should we help Big Brother Killua?"
Katara noticed the commotion the others were causing. She bowed her head in frustration. "How is this keeping a low profile?"
Katara raised her head almost instantly, sensing a malicious presence near them, pulling Alluka behind her, and getting her pouch ready.
"Hello there... Water Tribe Girl..." a creepy voice said from behind her, causing her to swiftly turn, pivoting on her leg to pull Alluka out of the way and hitting the person who dared to surprise her with a water whip.
Behind her was I-Got-You, and he was caressing a bruise on his forehead. "That's not a very nice way to treat someone who helped you."
"Why would you sneak up on someone like that?" Katara snapped at him.
The Dark Magician chuckled, also from behind Katara, causing her to pivot away, pulling Alluka so that they were both in her sights. "He's a clown. Being creepy is sort of his thing."
"Katara... look out!" She heard Toph shout from behind her. She tried to step out of the way, but both Gon and Toph bumped into her. Killua landed right next to them.
"Incoming..." the Dark Magician pointed at the group of low level pros rushing them.
I-Got-You stepped in between them, wearing the biggest creepy clown grin he could manage and sticking his hands out. "Sorry boys. The Clown Heroes are signing this group!"
The group screeched to a stop. "Isn't that the Clown Hero?" "I heard he can control your body with just one touch." "Not worth it man!"
This was enough to dissuade the group from stepping any further. He turned to see Toph, Killua, and Gon arguing about who won the latest race, drawing the Dark Magician into their argument as a referee.
"You two numbskulls fell so you're disqualified!" Killua argued.
"No one said that! You can't change the rules after." Gon laughed.
"Don't be a sore loser, fuzzy feet!"
A confused Dark Magician looked to I-Got-You, giving him a questioning look.
"Yes they're still kids. But that's why they'll make the best sidekicks," I-Got-You pointed out. "We help them get their provisionals. They go on patrol with us. We both win!!"
I-Got-You turned to the kids. "So... ready to discuss joining the best up-and-coming hero agency?"
"No. I don't like clowns." Gon stated bluntly, thinking back to one problematic and creepy clown that had haunted him before. I-Got-You's jaw dropped.
"If he says no, then it's a no for us too," Killua agreed, referring to himself and Alluka.
"I'm sticking with fuzzy feet and Gon!" Toph added.
I-Got-You turned to Katara, one hopeful look in his eye, but she shook her head. "But why?!" He whined. The Dark Magician tried to console his friend as the five kids gathered together.
"Gon, look!" Killua muttered, drawing his friend's attention to a large muscular blond who had drawn a small crowd within the lobby.
Gon turned in the direction Killua had gestured in. "That looks like Bisky," he joked, getting a knock on the head from Killua. "Hey!" He whimpered.
As Gon caressed the bruise on his head, Killua assessed the man that stood before him. Every fiber in his body was twitching. Whoever this person was... he exuded a tremendous aura around him. One that those who casually spoke to him didn't seem to notice. One that he tried to hide beneath that big smile.
Katara and Toph had noticed Killua's caution and shift in mood too, the former from the change in his mien, and the latter from the vibrations off his body.
"What's wrong Killua?" Katara asked, his worry beginning to infect her.
"He's strong!" Killua muttered to himself, before turning to the Dark Magician. "Hey Poker Cloak," he called out, referring to the hero's costume and drawing his reluctant attention. "Who's that?"
"Oh that's All-Might, the Number #1 Hero. Everyone kinda looks up to him... except villains," the Dark Magician explained.
"And kids who become villains by refusing to join our hero agency..." I-Got-You chimed in. "Are you a villain? Are you a villain?" He asked, his voice getting increasing louder. "If you are, you better hide. Cause All-Might's going to come get you!!"
