Chapter 31 Rengoku is the True Victor

Zenitsu's POV

When I woke up, the battle was over already and the train was absolutely destroyed. I managed to save Nezuko's box but she wasn't inside it. Where was she!? Tanjiro's gonna kill me if I don't figure it out. Wait... Where's y/n chan!? I try to get up when I realize they were both sleeping on me, one of their heads on each of my shoulders. Y/n chan looks like she hit her head pretty hard. I hope she didn't get a concussion. Nezuko just needed some time to rest. Y/n chan looks so peaceful. I don't want to wake her, but if she's hurt, should I wake her up? I don't know what she did, but her head was starting to bruise.

She slowly started to blink awake. What do I do!? I-

"...Zenitsu?...." she says weakly and winces at the pain and touches her head. She looks down at her hand. There was blood from her head on it. I saw that she was about to faint again.

"Y/n, stay with me! It's okay!" I say to her, trying to comfort her and figure out what to do.

"The kakushi should be here very soon now and." I gently place Nezuko in her box. "And I have some bandages we could use for now!"

I take out my bandages and start trying to wrap them around her head. Her skin was starting to turn cold but she seemed to be more awake.

"Are you okay?" She said quietly inspecting me.

"I'm completely fine y/n!" I insured her.

"Good." she said weakly smiling.

She starts to sit up and processes what happened.

"You should lay back down y/n chan."

"I'm fine." She said seriously, looking a little distressed and shivering.

"Y/n, I really hate it when you push yourself like this. You've always had the tendency to push yourself over your limits." I said

She gasped and held back tears.

I started shaking my hands around "I'm sorry! Did what I say upset you! I didn't mean too! Forget what I said!"

She grabbed onto me, still shivering, and whipped her tears.

"Y/n..... what happened? Was it something on the train?" I said, trying really hard to stay calm. She said nothing and tensed up to try and stop the tears from falling down her face.

"Y/n... look at me." I said intensely, "No matter what it is, I swear I'll do everything in my power to make it right." I whipped her tears away.

"That stupid demon....." She mumbled. "Giving me dreams. Playing with my feelings like that."

"What do you mean?" I asked

She looked up at me.

"What did you dream about Zenitsu?" She asked.

"If I tell you my dream will you tell me yours?" She nods her head at me.

"I had a dream that we were together in a beautiful garden of peaches and flowers and we didn't have a care in the world. It was just us and we were happy. All we needed was each other and I was strong enough to protect you from any harm."

She smiled through her tears. "That sounds wonderful." She said, as she took a deep breath. "In my dream, we defeated Muzan and Nezuko was human. I was......" She paused. "I was engaged to you and you were meeting my family." I felt myself blush. "My family wasn't mad at me and accepted me again and you and Master Uzui got along wonderfully. Every person that ever hurt me never existed and all of my childhood friends were there."
