The Birthday

On one warm sunny day Pansy woke me up pretty early.
She stood next to my bed and shook me.

„Elli get up. Come oooooonnnnn"

„Oh my god Pans what is it? It's way to early for that"

I groaned and tried to push her away.

„No it's important we have to gooooo"

„Go? What where?"

I opened my eyes completely confused.

„Were going in the city! This is important. Family dinner this evening so we need some things"

I blinked confused.
I didn't knew what she was talking about.
I slowly got up.

„What? What dinner?"

„Yeah dinner with everyone. Come on I made appointments for the hair dresser and nail salon. We're gonna be late"

„You did what?"

I stared at her excited face.
I grunted but got up.
Pansy was the most spontaneous person I knew.
It was exhausting sometimes.
I quickly got into some clothes and brushed through my hair.
I didn't even saw Tom or Mattheo before we left.

She dragged me to one shop to the next.
First of hair dresser.
While she went crazy and let the hairdresser set some deep red highlights in her almost black short hair they had not much to do with my hair.
It was healthy and I would kill if someone would colour it.
I got a trim and let me talk into a cute big braid. They even placed some little flowers in it.
It actually looked so cute.
Pansy asked the stylist a million questions about how to do this.
She was so into it.

Next was the nail salon.
Pansy went for deep red to match her new highlights.
I had a hard time to decide but settled for a black French with a cute little snake on the middle finger.

Pansy insisted on going for new dresses.
Her explanation was that we wouldn't have much time to change.
It was all so suspicious.
I had a weird feeling about all of this but went along with it.

She got the most beautiful silver dress I had ever seen. She looked stunning.
I choose a deep dark green dress.

It was late afternoon as we arrived back at the mansion.
It was awfully quiet and dark inside.
That was odd.

„After you beautiful"

she said awfully loud.
Why would she almost shout this?
I knew why as I got inside and instantly the lights went on.
My jaw dropped as a bunch of people were cheering and shouting at me.
But not just a bunch of people.
My people!
Everyone where there.
The boys, Daphne, Astoria, even Mathilda and some of our hufflepuff friends.
Just then I noticed the ridiculous amount of balloons in the hall.

„What the hell is going on?"

I gasped and laughed.
Tom and Mattheo stepped out of the crowd.

„It's a birthday party"

Mattheo grinned.
I looked at him confused.

„But I don't have one. I mean ehm"

I stammered shortly.
What were they thinking.
I felt tears fill my eyes.
I couldn't comprehend this situation.

„Of course you have one. And we found out when. We asked mom. We couldn't make out a specific date so we just settled for one"

Mattheos words hit me like a brick.
I never even thought about this.
I was so used to not having one.
