The next day I felt really sick.
I stayed in bed and Pansy excused me to the professors.
Is wasn't long till I got a text.

He was unbelievable.
But I didn't care.
I curled up in my bed.
Not able to move much.
After some time I heard knocking on my door.

„Yes?"

I said loud.

„Elli can I come in?"

It was Theo.

„Sure it's open"

Theo stepped in my room.
Theo was after Mattheo one of the guys I was the closest with.

He had his arms full with snacks and other stuff.

„Hey Pumpkin. I heard you're sick. I have a free period so I thought I check in on you"

His big smile warmed my heart.
We talked and ate almost all of the snacks.
He skipped the next period and stayed.
I was so glad to not be alone right now.
I couldn't bare the silence.
Soon my phone buzzed again.

I almost screamed at my screen.
He couldn't be serious.
What an asshole!
Theo just laughed.

„That's not funny Theo!"

„Well yes it is. He has obviously a thing for you."

he smirked teasing.

„Don't be rediculus. He hates me. He just wants to piss me off"

„And risk his grade for that? No way. Not Tom. He wants to spend time with you I'm pretty sure"

I threw a pillow at Theo and grunted.

„Now I'm stuck with him. Ugh fuck"

Theo laughed but I only gave him a death stare.

„Come on. It's the last week. You have freedom till after the winter break."

Theo said holding his hands up in defeat.

„I'm gonna make this work! He's not gonna do this alone. Just so he can mock me about this? No"

I felt chellenged.
This actually made me smile.
To have something to work for.

„See it's not that bad"

Theo smiled.

„Maybe you two get reaaaallllyyyy good friends"

he said wiggling with his eyebrows.
I punched him hard but he just laughed.

Of course I knew that working with Elisabeth would be challenging.
But she was really good and I was too.
So I hoped that we would get through this really quick.

After class Mattheo pulled me into an empty classroom.
What now?
This boy couldn't let me alone for a minute.

„What now Mattheo? I'm not gonna get you out of trouble this time."

I crossed my arms.

„That's not it Tom. Not this time"

he looked nervous.
Concerned.
I was wondering what happened after I left them alone yesterday.

But it was not my place to ask.
I only stepped in because I diddnt wanted to see her hurt.
As much as I despised her, she touched something in me.

I hated it.
I felt weak.
But I couldn't keep up our rivalry when she was injured right?

I looked at Mattheo.
He seemed very serious this time. This was new.

„then tell me"

„I need to ask you a favour. I'll do anything."

„Tell me what you want before you beg"

I roled my eyes.
How pathetic.

„I know you will stay over the winter break. And El will be staying too. I just want to ask you too look after her. She has a hard time. And I need to ask mom if she can stay with us in the summer"

„Wait what? Why would you ask this?"

„Tom she can't go back home! You've seen her!"

„She seemed fine. A little bit exhausted but that's all."

„Tom she won't go back there. I won't let that happen"

„But why? She's strong. She can endure a little argument with her brother"

I roled my eyes and wanted to go.
I didn't understand.
Why were they so dramatic.

„Tom...please."

„Mattheo I think you're overreacting"

I turned to go.

„Fuck. They are torturing her! They use the cruciatus on her!"

Mattheos words seemed to stab me.
This couldn't be true.
And why did it affect me so much?
I diddnt cared for her right?
I hated her.
But hearing this made me furious.

„What? Is that true?"

„Yes Tom. God she's gonna kill me if she knows I told you. But please. You know I can't stay. I can't leave knowing she's gonna be alone"

„Fine. I will have an eye on her."

„Wait really?"

Mattheo looked at me with pure suprise.

„Yes. But just this once"

With that i disappeared out the door.

I had to get his head clear.
Why was this affecting me so much?
I felt so much rage in me.
Knowing she was hurt so much.

She must be stronger than i thought.
I never had noticed.
I suddenly felt so dumb.
I could read people like books.
But not her.
She was a mistery to me.
And it bothered me.
Why was i feeling this things?
This shouldn't be.
