The last Hollingworth - a Hogwarts Story

Gone

Everyone stayed the day after and left on the late afternoon.
In the evening Marvolo and Eve returned.
We had given our best to clean everything up before they came.

Mattheo, Pansy, Tom and I were sitting in the kitchen as the two came in.

„There's our party girl"

Marvolo grinned and hugged me.
It still was so strange.
I had seen him with everyone else.
He was such a cold and tactical person.
Just like Tom.
But something about me made these two men weak. And I certainly wouldn't complain.

„I hope you got just the best presents"

Eve said smiling.
She was holding a big basked.

„Yeah just the very best"

I said smiling and slightly fiddling with my necklace.
Eves eyes sparkled as she saw the necklace.
She gave Tom a slight look but said nothing.

„Great so ready for our present?"

she asked clearly excited.

„Another one?"

I had already seen like 3 presents yesterday that were labelled with ‚E&M'

„The very best one comes last"

Marvolo smiled.
He seemed so excited.
I leaned over the counter and smiled.

„Ohhhh what is it?"

Even Pansy and Mattheo were both leaning in clearly wanting to know.
Eve set down the basked right in front of me.
I looked confused but she just motioned for me to open it.
I slowly lifted the top and gasped.
Looking at me and jumping in my arms were a little kitten.
He was so tiny.
He was pitch black with two little white paws.
It instantly curled up in my lap and purred.

„Look I knew it! He already loves her"

Eve said smiling.
I looked confused up.

„We thought since students are allowed to bring a pet and you never got the chance to get one we would get you one. The boys never wanted one"

I gently patted the little kitten.
Tears were rolling over my cheeks.

„It is so cute. I bet Cleo will love him!"

Pansy said excited.
I knew that probably she was the one that told them.
I loved her cat Cleo.
I generally loved animals.
This was so unreal.

„It's a he?"

I asked quiet.

„Yes. He hasn't a name yet. So you can choose"

I picked him up and looked at him.

"Hmmmmmmmm what should I name him?"

„Salem!"

„Noooo. Something badass like rocky or something like that"

Pansy and Mattheo started to argue over names.
I looked at Tom and smiled.

„What do you think?"

he looked at the cat with an unreadable expression.
But then he just said quiet.

„Noctis"

My face lit up.
It was perfect.

„Noctis yes that's perfect!"

The little kitten meowed slightly and showed me his little teeth.

„But doesn't Noctis mean night? He's not completely black"

Mattheo said confused.

„And? In every night will be light if you just look for it"

I said laying Noctis back on my lap.
I could see Tom slightly smile next to me.

„Alright! So Noctis it is"

Eve said smiling.

Noctis was the sassiest and sweetest little cat I had ever seen.
He was always on the run.
Through the whole mansion.
He loved sneaking into Tom's room and sleep on his desk.
Tom made sure everyone knew how much he hated it. But I sometimes catched him snuggling with Noctis and letting him sleep on his lap while he worked.

It was almost noon.

We had a little over a week left before school would start.
I searched all morning for Noctis.
He must have hidden somewhere.

„Tom? TOOOOM! Have you seen Noctis?"

Toms head popped up out of his door.

„God darling keep it down! I'm trying to concentrate here"

„Yeah yeah but have you seen him?"

„No!"

He blaffed annoyed.
I rolled my eyes as we heard loud voices from downstairs.
Tom and I looked at each other.
Mattheo and Pansy were out so it couldn't be them. And these were male voices.
In this moment I saw Noctis slipping around a corner jumping down the stairs.

„Noctis no!"

I hissed and ran after him.
I felt Tom slowly following me.
My eyes followed Noctis who rushed down the stairs and hopped right into the living room.
I sighed as I reached the end of the stairs.
The voices went silent.

Just then I looked up.
And I froze.
In the hall stood Marvolo.
But right by the door were three men.

My grandfather, my father and my brother.
My blood froze.
I couldn't move.
My heart felt like stopping.

„Good right on time! I'm taking her with me"

Abraxas said cold.

„You wont! I'm not gonna let her go with you"

Marvolo growled deep.
His face was dark.
I had never seen him this way.

„This is my daughter. I own er! And she will do what she is supposed to do!"

Solomon almost yelled.
He was always so loud.

„You won't sell her like you did with Ava! She's a kid Solomon!"

„Well too late! We already did!"

Solomon grinned and stepped closer.
My heart sunk.
They did what?

„Step any closer and it will be the last thing you do!"

I heard Tom behind me.

„You think you can stopp us?"

Leonidas laughed cruel.

„Wasn't the last time a good enough warning?"

Tom growled.
Leonidas flinched and looked away.
As always he was afraid.
This coward.

I looked back at them.
Then it hit me.
I couldn't move.
Not a single muscle.
They had petrified me.
I couldn't breathe.
I was panicking.

Before anyone could do anything spells were flying everywhere.

Bursting things.
It was chaos.
I couldn't see anything.
I couldn't move.
Suddenly I felt someone grab me.

Tight.
Painful.
Everything went dark.
My body felt like bursting.

They had disapparated with me.
No.
This couldn't be real.
Please let me wake up.
Let this be a nightmare.
