Meredith.
it's been some time since I gave birth to the twins and I was finally able to go home but both the babies have to stay in the hospital for the next few weeks.
Derek's still a little depressed that the twins have to stay in the hospital while we get to go home, especially with the publicity and he's scared that people are going to find out they were born and go to the hospital.
He's already hired six guards to watch the babies. four of them are standing outside the room to make sure no one other than doctors and nurses goes in.
there are two inside the room, one watching our daughter and the other watching our son.
they both were in the medical field for some time so they know what the babies need and don't need so if one of the nurses gives them something they don't need they will be able to tell.
and in case they need to do something they also have some experience and can do something.
He hasn't really left the hospital since I've been admitted and he rarely sleeps anymore because of it.
But I think it'll help him when we get home so he can sleep in his own bed and maybe getting back to work will take his mind off of everything.
I've gotten to see the babies multiple times and they're doing better.
They've both grown but they're still pretty small and she's even smaller than he is.
She'll have to be in the hospital for two more weeks than he will, three at most if everything goes well.
"Derek?" I say opening the nursery door. "Yeah?" He says as I walk into the room. "What are you doing alone in here?" I say.
"You shouldn't be out of bed," he says. "I'm fine," I say.
"They should be in here," he says as I move to sit on his lap sideways, wrapping one arm around his neck and the other hand on his chest.
"They need to be in the hospital until they're healthy enough to come home. We don't have everything they need here, we don't have the machines," I say. "They only just started drinking from a bottle," I say.
"They have you, they don't need a bottle," he says placing his hands on my waist.
"They're getting the breast milk they need, I pump at home and then I take it to the hospital once they've run out," I say.
"As long as they are healthy that's all that matters Derek. All twins have to stay in the hospital for a couple of weeks," I say.
"We've only been home for three days, how long did the doctor say they have to be in there for?" He asks looking at me for the first time since I walked in here.
"Four weeks, but Adelina might have to stay for five to six weeks," I say.
"So Romeo has to stay there for a month and Adelina has to stay for almost two months," he says with tears in his eyes.
"I know it's a long time but there's nothing we can do to make it go quicker, all twins come earlier. It's not our fault," I say kissing his cheek multiple times.
"No... it's my mother's fault. She was yelling at you before you went into labour, stress can cause early labour. They could have stayed in there longer if it weren't for her, maybe a week or two weeks or three weeks and they wouldn't be in the hospital right now," he says.
"Derek, you shouldn't let this eat away at you. It won't do you any good and it won't do the twins any good," I say.
"This is her fault I don't want her in their life. I don't want her at their birthdays, Christmas, Thanksgiving, or anything. She doesn't even need to meet them, she doesn't even need to know they're born," he says.
