The Adventures of IceT and Limon (A Chikin Nuggit OC Fanfiction)

Chapter 7: Halloween (Part 2)

(3rd Person POV)

Synopsis: IceT finds an unexpected sight at her door and ends up gaining more feelings than she bargained for.

                        IceT took a moment to take in the costumes that a familiar red panda and yellow dog were wearing at her door. Sody Pop was dressed as what she assumed was a Horseman of some sort, as he was wearing a black coat and belt with a black horse stick as well, a mischievous expression on his face morphing into surprise at the sight of IceT. Accompanying him was Chikin Nuggit dressed as...she wasn't exactly sure what. 

"Hey, you two! Long time no see, huh?" IceT asked with a kind smile as she took the basket of crocheted keychains in her hands. She saw that the basket was significantly empty, with only a few keychains left inside. 

"You both can take your pick of these keychains, I made them myself! Which one do you like best?" She asked as she offered the basket to them, Chikin and Sody moving closer to take a look.

"I want the skull!" Sody Pop exclaimed, taking a crocheted skull keychain before stepping back. Unlike the red panda, Chikin took a moment to observe the various keychains with interest. As he did so, IceT grabbed the opportunity to ask the two of them about their costumes. "So, Chikin, if you don't mind me asking, what exactly are you dressed as?"

"As myself, of course!" At IceT's confusion, Sody added, "He's a chicken nugget!"

It took a moment for IceT to process it before she responded, "Ooohhh, now I get it! That's a really neat idea. What about you, Sody?" Although she already had a clue, the mouse still wanted Sody Pop to feel somewhat included in the conversation. 

"I'm the Headless Horseman!" He replied with enthusiasm, parading his costume and horse stick around with an expression meant to be frightening. Playing along, IceT feigned a surprised expression, her paw to her mouth as Chikin chuckled beside him. 

"You sure are one scary horseman," Chikin replied as he decided to select a pumpkin-crocheted keychain from the basket IceT held. 

"Headless horseman," Sody Pop corrected him. "Don't worry though, I won't scare you," Sody said as he looked back to IceT, the mouse relaxing as he said so. "That's good to know. Hope you both have a good night!" She said, about to close the door when Chikin Nuggit quickly caught her attention. 

"Wait! By the way, you have a lovely bow on your tail. Did you make it yourself?"

"How'd you know?" IceT asked, surprised he was able to deduce the fact. 

"I should know. No one makes those beautiful bows at Crafty Corner like you do," Chikin responded, causing a light blush to appear on his face. 

IceT didn't think she'd ever received such a meaningful comment before from someone she was only acquainted with. Before she knew it, IceT felt her tail slowly swaying behind her as she stood there dumbstruck at the door, a small blush forming on her face as well. 

The silence was interrupted by Sody Pop clearing his throat and tugging on Chikin's arm, wanting to head over to the next house. 

"Well, you guys should be heading off now if you want to get more candy while you still can," IceT spoke after snapping out of her trance. 

"Oh! We should. It was nice you see you again!" The dog responded as he turned his back and descended the stairs of her house with Sody Pop. 

As IceT closed the door, she noticed that her tail was still swaying from her encounter with Chikin. It reminded her of how her dad's tail would do the same whenever her stepmother came back from work as he'd place a chaste kiss on her cheek and-

IceT slammed her tail on the floor with hard force as her blush intensified. "No! There's no way I could be feeling anything like that from someone I've just met! I'm just confused is all, right?!"

Limon walked in just as this was happening wearing her beautifully decorated masquerade costume, a confused expression on her face watching IceT's sudden change in behaviour. "You alright there? Your face looks like it's on fire."

IceT gasped as her attention shifted from her stinging tail to the glittering costume Limon was wearing (attempting to change the conversation in the process before it could start). "Wow, that looks better on you than I thought it would!"

"Why, thank you!" Limon couldn't help but feel flustered by her compliment as she turned to showcase her costume. "But what happened to you at the door though?"

"WOW, look how DARK it's getting outside! We oughta get going if we're still planning to take that walk. In fact, I'm gonna go change right now!" With that, IceT quickly scampered up the stairs before Limon could say anything else. 

Despite the sudden departure from her, Limon made a mental note to ask IceT about what happened during their walk. 

A few moments passed, and the brown mouse slowly descended the stairs with her purple musketeer costume and various props. Together, they both went out the door and on the sidewalk to go and enjoy the crisp night air.
