The Adventures of IceT and Limon (A Chikin Nuggit OC Fanfiction)

Chapter 6: Halloween (Part 1)

(3rd person POV)

Synopsis: Weeks after the last chapter, IceT and Limon finally get ready for Halloween as their costumes are revealed!

                      IceT placed the last of her Halloween-themed crochet keychains in a basket next to her favorite armchair as Limon walked into the living room with some Halloween decorations in a box. 

"Way to set up all the Halloween decorations at the last minute, Limon," IceT commented as she looked up at the owl from her position. "How come you don't pull this kind of stuff when it comes to the responsibilities of Crafty Corner?" 

"Because I know how much the place means to you," Limon responded. "Plus, I can get these up in 5 minutes, so I don't think it's that big of a deal," she said, gesturing to the box she held. "I'll be back once I'm done with these decorations."

Once Limon left and closed the door behind her, IceT got up from the warmth of her armchair and picked up the basket of crochet keychains, observing them with pride for her work. 

The basket was filled with various crocheted Halloween keychains like jack-o-lanterns, witch hats, ghosts, pumpkins, and skeleton heads with their keychain rings attached to them. IceT had spent the last hour or so crocheting them, and she was content with what she had made. 

The plan that IceT and Limon had made was that they would spend one-half of the night handing out crochet keychains to whoever came to their doorstep, then the other half taking a walk outside in costume in the crisp night air. 

Walking towards the door with her basket and plastic chair in hand, IceT opened it to see Limon hanging up the last of Halloween decorations on their front porch adorned with jack-o-lantern string lights, giving the porch a warm orange glow. 

"Wow, Limon, you did amazing with these!"

"Thanks. Now, I think I saw some trick-or-treaters coming around this neighborhood. Do you want to take the first shift, or should I?"

"You can do it first if you want, I can go prepare our costumes for us," IceT offered, setting up the chair for Limon to sit on and placing the basket of crocheted keychains next to her. 

"Alright then. I'll see you in a minute?" 

"Yeah, you will," IceT responded as she left Limon alone and went back inside, taking the steps upstairs to Limon's room where they had kept both their costumes. 

The mouse opened Limon's closet to see both costumes in their place as she pulled out the owl's costume from inside, admiring the black and golden masquerade mask and dress shimmering with glitter. Setting it aside, she then focused her attention on her costume of a purple and yellow musketeer outfit set with its hat, cape, and fake sword. IceT then set that aside as well, excitement bubbling in her chest for the evening's events. 

As the night passed, IceT went back downstairs to swap places with Limon, but now with a new, purple, satin bow on her tail, which she created herself as an addition to her costume. 

"IceT, your idea of handing out those keychains so far has been a great idea! You do not know how many parents were telling me about it," Limon said as she took notice of IceT's bow. "Nice bow you got there. I reckon you made it yourself?"

IceT did a mock gasp, placing her paw on her chest as she descended the stairs. "Do you even know me?" She asked dramatically before giggling, Limon joining in with her. 

As Limon was about to speak, the doorbell rang, its sound echoing through the house like it had been for the whole night. "Well, looks like some more trick-or-treaters await you," Limon said, placing her wing on the rail of the stairs. "I'll see you in a couple of minutes?"

"Sure," IceT responded as the owl ascended the stairs. She then opened the door, only to be met with a rather surprising sight.
