"I'm so excited!" Hanji screeched. She heard Mikasa laughing over the phone. "I mean, what are the chances that you live right next to my new place of work! Thanks again for offering your place, this is gonna be so much fun!"

Mikasa and Hanji had been best friends since college. Mikasa was studied law in hopes to become an attorney and Hanji majored in science and engineering. Mikasa was smart, but she was always amazed at her best friend.

When Hanji had told Mikasa that she got her dream job in the Research and Development branch at the Survey Corps, Mikasa wasted no time in asking her to be her roommate. They had always wanted to be roommates in college but they couldn't afford a place. Mikasa landed a job as a junior attorney at a nice law firm and was able to rent a small apartment. It was no more than fifteen minutes away from the corps and her law firm. It was perfect for them.

"I can help you pack up and bring your stuff over here tomorrow." Mikasa suggested happily.

"I already have my stuff packed, I'll come over tomorrow morning and we can get it all set up!"

The two talked some more about how fun it was going to be being roommates before Hanji said she had to go. She hung up the phone and sighed. Her place was a disaster. Clothes were piled in heaps on the floor and boxes were strewn about the apartment. Mikasa had done so much for her that Hanji thought she couldn't possibly make her come and help with the disaster of packing her things up.

Hanji huffed and put her disheveled hair into a messy pony tail, pushed her glasses up her nose, and got to work. She blasted music from the speaker and screamed along to the music as she danced around her now nearly empty living room, throwing clothes and other random items into boxes as she twirled.

It was nearly midnight by the time Hanji managed to get most of her things packed semi-neatly. She grabbed a glass and a bottle of wine and slid to the ground with her back against the wall of boxes. She wiped the sweat from her brow and thought about her new job. Dad would have been so proud of me.

"Daddy! Come play!" Little Hanji yelled from across the room. She frowned when she didn't hear a response. Hanji grabbed her titan stuffy and pranced to the living room. She saw her dad sitting in his chair and facing the window. She grabbed his hand, "Daddy?" She whispered. He turned to her and smiled. "Wanna come play with me?" She asked again.

He smiled sadly, "I'm sorry honey, maybe later...daddy's not feeling well today." He rubbed her hair with his hand.

Hanji giggled and yelled "Okay!" As she ran back to her toys. She wondered why her dad always looked so sad.

Hanji smiled sadly as she reminisced about the past. She poured the red liquid into the clear glass and held it up to the almost empty apartment, "Here's to you, Dad."
