Chapter 4: Black Tea and Bandages

Levi, having yet another night of less sleep and more nightmares, was especially irritable today. He was not in the mood for small talk, or any kind of talking for the matter. He pushed open the doors of the Survey Corps office building only to stop in his tracks.

"Shh it's the Captain!" Sasha whisper yelled. Hanji recognized the short man and put two and two together. Her new neighbor was Captain Cleanly Ass.

"What are you doing here?" Levi's question sounded more like and insult than an inquiry. The girl he met from the other day turned from her conversation with Levi's employees to look at him.

"I work here." She smiled, "Research and Development branch. Don't you remember?"

Levi tsked and continued walking past the four employees. As soon as they heard a door close down the hall a collective sigh was released and they all began to talk freely again.

"What's his problem?" Hanji asked innocently.

"He's...going through some stuff." Eren muttered.

Hanji's head filled with more questions. "Like what?" She asked obliviously.

Eren, Connie, and Sasha looked at each other silently before Connie decided to speak up. "I mean, he's always been short and rude." He laughed. "But ever since the incident happened he hasn't quite been the same...less snarky, but still scary as hell."

Hanji couldn't help but wonder what this incident was.

Levi heard a knock at his office door. "Come in."

Christa opened the door and closed it quietly after herself. "Here's your paper work, Sir."

She walked up to Levi's desk, paper work in hand. Levi looked up from what he was doing and took the large stack of papers from Christa.

"Thanks."

"Anything else I can do for you?" She smiled brightly.

Levi tsked as he looked at the happy girl. "Tea, if you don't mind." She reminded him of her.

"Of course! I'll be right back!" She smiled as she ran out of his office, leaving his door slightly ajar.

"Oi, brat!" He called after her. Christa stopped in her tracks and closed the door after herself, letting out a quick "Sorry!" Before she continued to run down the hall.

Christa made her way to the little coffee nook that was kept in the lounge area of the business. She picked up a small white tea cup and began filling it up with hot water.

Armin walked in to the lounge to get himself and Eren some coffee. It was only eight in the morning after all. He let out a large yawn when he noticed Christa humming to herself as she prepared what he assumed was Levi's tea. His cheeks flushed at the cute sight. He slowly walked up to her making sure not to scare her.

"Morning, Christa" He stated with a small smile. Christa turned to see him, her cheeks becoming increasingly pink.

"Oh! Hey, Armin." She smiled, "Getting some coffee?"

Armin chuckled and smiled at her as he nodded. "You know how cranky Eren can be if he doesn't have his caffeine." Christa giggled and nodded knowingly. Muffled yelling could be heard from down the hall. Armin rolled his eyes, "Guess that's my cue."

Christa laughed, "I'm assuming Jean and Eren are at it again?"

Armin's cheeks turned red at the sound of her laugh. "Yep haha!" He said rubbing the back of his head. The two finished making their drinks and headed down the hallway.
