It had been a few weeks since Levi's panic attack and Hanji hadn't asked him about it yet. She didn't know why, but she figured he'd want to pretend like nothing happened. She noticed a difference between them though, Levi wasn't completely ignoring her, but he wasn't treating her the same as before either. Hanji couldn't put her finger on it. Either way, she was trying to gain his trust so that eventually she could help him. She felt a connection to him and an overwhelming want to help him get better. She figured it was because of her dad. She didn't tell many people, but her dad died due to suicide. Hanji couldn't let anything like that happen to Levi.

Levi couldn't stop thinking about her. He had never experienced something like that with anyone. She found him in his most vulnerable state and she knew exactly what to do and say. Levi felt seen. He felt understood. He didn't know what it was, but he wanted to feel that safe again. In his moment of distress she was there. The dork who made his bad tasting tea, the nerd with the messy hair and hooked nose. Hanji. She was simply perfect.

Levi grunted as realization hit him, he had a major crush on his neighbor. She was the opposite of everything; he was clean and tidy, she was always a mess, he was short, she was tall, he loved tea, she liked coffee. However different they were, Levi knew he liked her and that scared the shit out of him.

"Christa-" Levi called as he saw the blonde girl walking past his office. She turned, startled.

"Yes, Captain?"

"Send Eren up here. Tell him we need to talk." Levi said seriously. Christa gulped. She couldn't imagine what Eren did this time.

"Yes, Sir!" She exclaimed as she scurried off to find the boy.

Levi considered Eren one of his closer friends. Especially after what he put him through. Levi sighed and nervously waited for Eren to arrive.

"Eren!" Christa called once she made it to the main part of the building. She saw Eren's face pop out from behind a cubicle wall.

"Oh hey, Christa!" Eren smiled, "Watcha need?"

Christa swallowed, "Captain Levi wants to see you in his office. He sent me to fetch you." Eren shrunk as he felt everyone's eyes on him.

"D-did he say why?" Eren asked, desperate for some clarity or good news. Christa shook her head and Eren deflated even more. He sighed and closed his computer.

"Eren's in ttrrrrooouuubbbblllleeee." Jean taunted.

"Fuck off Horse-face." Eren snapped back as he got up and walked away with Christa.

"What did you do?" Christa asked Eren once they were alone in the hallway.

Eren shrugged, "I have no idea." He and Christa laughed. They continued walking until they arrived at Levi's door.

Christa smiled and patted Eren's back. "Good luck, Eren."

Eren let out a breath and nodded before he knocked. "Levi, it's Eren." He stated calmly as he tried to mentally prepare for whatever was about to happen.

"Come in." He heard from behind the door. Eren held his breath and pushed the door open. Levi was leaning on the front of his desk. "Take a seat."

Eren gulped and sat down, "L-look I don't know what I did okay, but I'm sorry-" Eren started.

"I need your advice." Levi said while he looked at Eren.

Eren felt his heart rate calm down, this isn't what he was expecting. "O-oh, well in that case how can I help?" He asked more energetically.

Levi groaned and put his face in his hands. This is so embarrassing. "I like someone." He admitted through his hands.

Eren perked up. "What?? Who?!"

Levi ignored his questions and lifted his head up to look at Eren. Eren quit smiling when he saw the serious look on Levi's face. "I'm terrified Eren...I-I don't know what to do."

Eren's face softened. "Did you tell them?" Levi shook his head no. Eren smiled, "You should! I know it's scary-"

"That's not the problem."

Eren furrowed his brows, "What do you mean?" He questioned.

Levi looked up at the ceiling. "Everyone I've cared for before...ugh I don't know." Levi shut his mouth. Eren thought he got what the problem was now.

"You're scared you'll lose them..." Eren spoke slowly paying close attention to Levi's expression. Levi nodded slowly.

"Petra..." Levi swallowed, "Petra loved me.."

Eren's eyes widened. "What?"

"Petra loved me." Levi repeated as his eyes finally met Eren's. "Her dad told me when I gave him the letter." Levi chuckled darkly. "I think I'm cursed."

Eren didn't find it funny. He stood up so he was level with Levi, "You're not cursed Heichou! Love sucks sometimes and it's scary and sometimes things don't workout. People die... but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try!" Eren cried. Levi smiled lightly at the kids heart. "What happened to you was unfair... and I'm sorry that it happened." Eren met Levi's gaze. "But love is worth fighting for." Levi was about to say something but Eren wasn't finished. "And you're not cursed. Not everyone you care about is gone. I'm still here, Erwin's still here, hell all the new recruits are still here... and we care about you Levi." Eren had unshed tears in his eyes.

Levi smiled genuinely, something Eren hadn't seen in a long time. "It's Hanji."

Eren sniffled. Then he chuckled. "I can totally see it."

"What did he want?" Jean asked when he saw Eren return to his desk.

Eren just smiled cheekily, "Wouldn't you like to know."
