Chapter 13: The Presentation

"Come on Hanji, you can do this!" She slapped her face lightly with her hands. The presentation was today. She and Moblit would be presenting it together. Hanji would be giving the presentation and Moblit would be overlooking the demonstration of the weapon. To say she was nervous was an understatement. She would be speaking in front of all the higher ups including Commander Erwin Smith, Keith Shadis, and the one she was most nervous about, Captain Levi Ackerman.

Hanji looked at the clock for the fifth time that minute. She was nervous about the leaders, but she was excited to talk about the weapon her and the research team have been working so hard on.

Hanji found herself in the bathroom in front of the mirror again. She typically didn't care what she looked like but this time was different. She didn't want to admit it, but it was probably because Levi would be there. They still hadn't spoken since the argument and Hanji had been dying to see him. She put her hair into a neater pony tail than usual. She pushed her glasses up her hooked nose and even put on some lip gloss that she borrowed from Mikasa. She wore a matching suit top with a pencil skirt. She smiled at her reflection.

She left the bathroom and saw Moblit waiting by her office door. She liked Moblit, he was nice and easy to get along with. "Hey, Moblit! You ready for today?"

Moblit looked up at her, a slight blush speeding across his cheeks. She looked pretty. "Nervous, but yeah." He laughed and scratched the back of his head.

"Here come in." Hanji opened the door for him and he walked into her office. "I want you to look over my presentation one more time." Moblit took a seat and Hanji grabbed her computer.

"I'm sure it's great." Moblit added. Hanji thanked him. She finished pulling it up and handed her computer to Moblit. She paced nervously around her office as he looked over her computer.

"I think it looks great-" Moblit looked up to see Hanji staring out her window towards the hall with a longing look. He turned around to see the Captain walking down the hallway. He sighed internally. While working with Hanji for weeks on this project he had to admit that he had developed a little crush on the spunky girl.

Hanji stared as Levi walked past her office windows. He was wearing a black suit, obviously dressed up for the meeting. His hair fell perfectly around his face. Hanji noticed that his eyes held darker circles under them. He looked like he hadn't slept in days. However tired, he looked as handsome as ever to Hanji.

"Ahem."

Hanji tore her eyes away from the Captain. She glanced at Moblit who looked uncomfortable. "Sorry, what did you say?" She smiled at him.

"It looks great, I think they'll be impressed with our branch's work." He handed the computer back to Hanji.

"Good good." She agreed. "Should we head to the conference room to start setting up?"

Moblit looked at his watch, "It's a little early, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared." He added as he stood up and opened the door for Hanji. "After you."

Hanji grabbed the box of supplies along with her computer and walked through the door.

The conference room that they were presenting in was large. There were over a hundred seats set up and a large screen hung over the stage. Hanji felt excitement building in her chest as she carried her supplies through the rows of chairs. The Wings of Freedom flag stood proudly next to the screen. If only my dad could see me now. Moblit followed Hanji up the stairs to the stage. She put her box down and looked out over the sea of empty chairs.

"Eeeee!" She squealed, "I'm getting so excited!" Moblit laughed at her. "How much time is left?" Hanji asked.

Moblit checked his watch. "Should be about fifteen minutes before everyone starts showing up and then fifteen more minutes untill we begin." Hanji nodded.
