Eren: How's Levi?

Hanji looked down at her phone with a confused expression. Why was Eren asking this out of the blue? She looked up at Levi who was cleaning vigorously.

Hanji: Fine, why?

She waited for Eren's response.

Eren: Next Saturday is the day his squad died a year ago. Just wanted to check in

Hanji gasped. Had it already been a year? Saturday was only a week away. Levi must have heard her because he turned around and pulled his mask down. "What is it?" He questioned.

Hanji swallowed, "Nothing!"

He gave her a look that meant he didn't believe her. Hanji just laughed. He shrugged and pulled his mask back up before he continued to clean. Hanji looked back at her phone.

Hanji: I had no idea, he seems fine. I'll keep an eye on him

Hanji watched as Levi cleaned. Was he actually okay? He seemed normal, but Hanji knew that didn't mean he was. She also didn't want to ask in case he was trying not to think about it. Hanji knew he hadn't been sleeping well that week and now she figured out why. It was probably hard having those memories resurface.

It was Sunday which meant Levi and Hanji would go grocery shopping. Hanji loved doing domestic chores with him.

Levi pulled on a hoodie and Hanji wore her favorite baggy sweats. The weather was getting colder and Hanji fully embraced it. Levi, on the other hand, hated it.

"C'mon!" Hanji yelled as she grabbed the keys. Levi sighed and sprinted after the crazy girl. He always drove, but on Sunday, much to his dismay, he let Hanji. She loved driving, but as Levi once put it, 'I value my life' so they made a deal. Hanji could drive on Sundays. Of course she could drive herself anywhere, but when Levi was in the car she was limited to Sunday.

Levi loved how happy she was to drive them, but he was terrified for their lives. Levi fastened his seat belt and whispered a quick prayer as Hanji skidded out of the lot.

~ At the store ~

Hanji was busy looking at her list. "We need bread, fruit, veggies, milk...are we out of cheese?" Hanji asked as she continued to try to read her own handwriting. She didn't hear a response so she looked up, "Levi?"

She saw Levi staring down the aisle like he was in a trance. "Levi?" She called again. His pupils were contracted. Hanji recognized the look from when he was having a panic attack.

Levi looked down the burning hallway. Gunther and Olou were on the floor. Their bodies were mangled from the explosion-

Hanji put the list down and stood in front of Levi blocking his view of the aisle. She put her hands on the sides of his face and held him gently. He didn't move. His eyes were still concentrated on what was in front of him as if he was looking straight through Hanji. She knew she had to try to bring him back before a panic attack was triggered.

"Levi, I'm right here." She said. People were giving them weird looks as they passed, but Hanji payed no attention to them. She was focused on Levi.

"Can you hear me?" She asked, still holding his face in her hands.

He nodded and tears welled in his eyes, but he continued to stare in front of him. He reached up and grabbed her arms with his hands almost pleading for help. Hanji's heart broke. She had seen him like this a couple of times. It was like he was aware it wasn't real and knew what was happening outside of his mind, but he was stuck.

Hanji knew she had to try and ground him to bring him back. "What's your name?" She asked gently and stroked his cheek with her thumb.

"Levi." He answered quietly.
