Her pov:
Loki is like a magnet, I can't help myself always trying to meet those eyes, always trying to seek comfort by his touch. The room is filled with people murmuring about our new status yet all I can focus on is him. I watch as he slightly tenses up at my prolonged gaze as someone walks past muttering "What kind of spell does he have her under," I frown at their sheer lack of courtesy.
Others brazenly state harsh words as we have yet to even fully enter the room. I grip onto Loki's arm tighter, slowly lifting my hand to his face so his gaze meets mine, I give a reassuring smile to him and drop my hand before he becomes too uncomfortable with the public display.
He looks down at me, a glint reappearing in his eyes "May I have this dance" he grins. I nod without hesitation as we make our way to the floor "Aren't you just full of surprises". The murmurs grew louder but it didn't matter. I tried following Loki's lead as we moved synchronously with the music, the whole scene felt like a movie to me, utterly surreal. I couldn't believe someone could look at me like this but there he was. He grips onto my waist, pulling me up in the air and slowly back down against him as we finish the dance. I smile upwards adoringly and everyone momentarily fades away, it was just me and those emerald dazzling eyes. I suddenly became very aware of the people's stares as the next song began to play, reluctantly I pulled away from him, "Would you like a drink my love?"
"Such a gentleman," I chuckle.
He grins in response "When it comes to you Aurora, always." he whispers against my ear. He walks away, slowly releasing his clasp on my hands and I smile in utter content. I make my way over to a quiet corner to await his return. Soon enough, another Asgardian approaches my way and takes a seat across from me "So, you and Loki?" he questions.
"Me and Loki what?"
"Nothing, nothing...so are you from here, I don't think i've seen you around"
I wearily state "No, actually i'm from Midgard, I think that what you call it"
His eyes widened "A mortal! In Asgard?" he says almost scoffing at the idea. I tilt my head surprised at his attitude "I think I should go, Loki is probably trying to find me.." I make my way to leave but he strongly grips my hand. "A mortal and a frost giant!" he spits. I grimace in disgust at his words.
"Let go of me!" I say sternly.
"I thought he was the worst of it, but this! This is unnatural!"
I take my other hand and dig my nails into his grip, simultaneously spitting in his face. He lets go immediately murmuring a series of words I wish not to repeat. I rush back over in the crowd trying to find Loki, I look around hastily, where is he!
"Aurora?" My body relaxes as I turn around to embrace him. "What has happened?" he asks softly. I shouldn't tell him, this is what he was afraid of, I sigh, swallowing back any feelings of hurt. " It's alright my love, you just took too long."
He sighs in relief "I am truly sorry, I shall do my best to make it up to you" he says stroking the back of my hair. He pulls away from me as other Asgardians bump into us as a clear disapproving sign. I wondered how much worse it may be if they knew I wasn't from here. He looks down at me "Shall we retire, I grow weary of these people," I nod at him smiling.
Thors brother comes up to us as we try to flee "Brother! Where are you going?!"he slurs.
"We're heading back, I think we have overstayed our welcome" he says glaring at the people still throwing unkind looks at us.
Thor frowns "What! Nooo stay! Let's get a drink first!"Loki sighs "No Thor"
To much of Thors dismay he stays firm in front of Loki "Aurora got a whole dance and you won't even have one drink with me?"
