The soft morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room as you lay cocooned in the remnants of sleep.
As consciousness gradually tiptoed back into your senses, you felt someone gently poking your cheeks, and in your semi-conscious state, you scrunched your face in annoyance. "Five more minutes," you mumbled, lazily pushing the hand away as you buried your face further into your pillow.
As you settled back into your half-asleep state, a familiar voice broke through the quiet room. "Wake up. You said we are going out today." This sudden declaration jolted you awake, and your eyes shot open to find Gojo sitting there, leaning casually close to you.
"Who allowed you here?" you grumbled.
"Your door was unlocked, so I just let myself in. also, we are already late," Gojo replied with an innocent grin, his eyes holding a mischievous glint.
"Ugh, get out first so I can get ready," you groaned with that, Gojo chuckled, ruffling your hair as he made his exit from your room.
Once he left, you couldn't help but plop back onto the bed, covering your face in embarrassment. "He probably saw me drooling," you muttered under your breath.
You promptly rose from your bed and made your way through your morning routine,
Descending the stairs, you found the kitchen bustling with activity. Your grandma was humming a cheerful tune, sitting at the table and reading the newspaper. The inviting aroma of pancakes on the griddle and the sizzle of bacon in the pan greeted you.
"Good morning, dear!" your grandma greeted you with a warm smile.
"Morning, Nana," you replied.
"Coffee or tea?" Gojo asked.
"Tea, please," you said, taking a seat. Gojo placed a cup of tea in front of you. "Thank you," you said softly.
"Where are you two going today?" Your grandma asked, sipping her tea.
"We're planning on going camping for one night," you said, putting a cube of sugar in your tea and stirring it.
"The place your dad always talked about?" She asked, and you nodded while taking a sip of your tea.
"Yup," you confirmed.
Gojo put a plate of pancakes on the table and sat in front of you.
"I think I know someone who sells camping equipment around here," he said, prompting you to raise your eyebrows.
"You lived around here before?" you asked.
"Nope, but you can say he's a friend of mine," Gojo replied with a wide smile.
