Alyssa's P.O.V.
I woke up to my alarm sounding. I groaned when I remembered that it was Sunday and that meant church. The last thing I wanted to do was go to church. I would rather go to work all day than go to church. I laid in bed contemplating whether I should go. If I didn't go, it would be the first time I had ever missed church on purpose. I only missed two times in my entire life and that was when I was really sick.
I decided that I should go so I got up and got ready. I curled my hair and did my makeup. I put my dress on and left a note to Harry. I walked down the long forest road and enjoyed the beautiful scenery that surrounded me. I didn't usually have time to appreciate it because I was always in a car. The weather was cold but it wasn't unbearable. I thought about what I was going to do after I got back.
I didn't have anything planned so I decided that I would just do whatever sounded fun. I finally got to the chapel after about 30 minutes of walking. I entered the big wooden doors and found an empty seat. It was less crowded today than it usually was. I was early and I was hoping that nobody would try to talk to me. I was actually really anti social. I didn't see going to church as a social thing. I just went there because I knew that it was the right thing to do.
The program eventually started and it seemed to drag on forever. I was very relieved when it was over. I quickly left so nobody would volunteer me to do anything. You can call me rude but I don't care. I decided to take a slight detour on the way home and go look through the windows of the nearby shops. I saw everything from candle shops to souvenir shops. I glanced into a piano shop and it reminded me that Harry had a very nice piano that he never used.
I really wanted to practice playing piano again. I decided that's what I would do when I got home. I used to play the piano a lot but I stopped because I no longer had access to one. It took me even longer to get back home but I enjoyed the peaceful time I had. I got back to Harry's mansion and the door was unlocked. It was unsafe to keep the door unlocked but his house was literally in the middle of no where.
I went in and didn't see Harry anywhere. I went up to the hidden room with the piano in it and sat down. I stretched my fingers and started playing warm ups. I warmed up my voice and remembered how much I missed it. I started playing the first song that came to mind and sang the words. I must have been sat at the piano for over an hour just singing and playing my heart out. I played a few random keys and liked the way the notes sounded together.
I played them in different ways until I was happy with the sound. I played the whole song through and decided to add words. The song just came so easily to me. It was very emotional for me to play because it channeled all of my bottled in emotions from my parents into a song. (Play the song now) I played the beginning and sang the first lyrics.
"Playground school bell rings again. Rainclouds come to play again. Has no one told you she's not breathing? Hello, I'm your mind giving you someone to talk to....hello..." I sang softly. I played the verse part on the piano.
"If I smile and don't believe, soon I know I'll wake from this dream. Don't try to fix me, I'm not broken. Hello, I'm the lie living for you so you can hide....don't cry..." I felt my throat get dry and felt it harder for me to sing. The more I sang the song, the more sad I felt. I missed my parents so much and I wished that I could just have them back. I liked feeling this way though. It was like I was in love with my own sorrow.
"Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping. Hello, I'm still here, all that's left of yesterday...." I thought back to the many nights that I sat up the whole night crying for hours and hours just thinking of my parents. I barely got any sleep because I was in so much pain. I could barely stand my life. I didn't realize I was crying until a tear drop splashed off of the piano key and onto my hand. I wiped it off with my hand and got up from the piano.
I turned to walk out when I noticed a man standing a few feet behind me, holding a drink in his hand. I jumped back because he startled me. I had no idea who he was or why he was there or even how long he was there.
"Um..hi." I sniffled, unsure of what to say.
"Hello. I'm Liam." He smiled with a friendly smile.
"I'm Alyssa." I introduced myself. I cursed myself for wearing makeup. It was probably smeared all down my face from crying.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah." I lied.
"That was a beautiful piece. Who made it?" He asked.
"I-I did." I said shyly. He raised his eyebrow.
"Wow. That was really good. It sounded like it has a lot of emotion in it for you." He said. I simply nodded and I heard Harry's voice sounding through the hall.
"Liam!!" He called.
"I'm up here!" Liam replied back.
"How long have you been playing piano for?" Liam asked me.
"Well I used to play a lot but I didn't practice for a few months so I'm a little rusty." I said.
We heard footsteps and saw Harry come into view."Hello, Alyssa. I see that you have met Liam." He said. I nodded. Harry looked between me and the piano and a smile grew on his face.
"Have you been playing piano?" He asked. I nodded. I don't know why I was so shy all of a sudden but ever since the events that occurred in the bathtub last night, it's been awkward between me and Harry.
"You should play it for me more. I really enjoy your playing." He said. I thanked him and gave him a smile.
"I'm gonna go change into some better clothes." I informed them. They nodded and I walked down the long hallway to my room. I put on some black skinny jeans and an over-sized gray sweater. I didn't want to bother Harry while he was talking to Liam. I assumed they were friends because he doesn't let anyone else come to his house.
I got my book out and started writing more in it. I came to a point where I didn't know what to write next and I chewed on my pencil and thought of the next thing to write. There was a knock on the door and Harry came in.
"Hi." I said.
"Hi. I just wanted to let you know that I am having some friends over later tonight for a party. You are more than welcome to come but I understand if you don't want to. I don't know if you're the party type." He said. I nodded.
"Is it like a club party or a dinner party?" I asked.
"There will be music, and dancing, but it won't be anything like a club." He said.
"Okay. What time are they gonna come over and how many people will be here?"
"They should start coming at around 6. It will just be a small party with about 30 people." He said.
"Small?" To me thirty people was a lot.
"Yep." I laughed and Harry walked over and eyed my book.
"What are you writing?" He asked.
"A book." I replied.
"I didn't know you enjoyed writing." He said.
"Yeah. I just like writing and it's a great way to express myself." I said. He nodded and laid down beside me.
"Where's Liam?" I asked.
"He went home but he'll be back later. He's bringing his fiance, Sophia. You'll love her." He said, wrapping his arms around me. I loved the feeling of his arms around me. I would die here and be perfectly content just as long as I was with him.
