"You know what this house is lacking?" Innie asked me with a mischievous look in his eyes.

I was laying on the couch, while he was pacing around the room previously deep in thought.

"A spa indoors? A cat? Maybe a massage chair?" I joked.

My boyfriend faked to be highly offended by this. "First of all, I'll take you to a spa anytime you want, second of all you don't need a cat because I'm just as cute and I like to be petted too, and thirdly I give you massages all the time."

He squeezed on the couch next to me, placing his head in my lap. "I can try purring too if that'll make you happy."

I rolled my eyes and laughed. My hand automatically went to his soft hair and began playing with it.

My boyfriend closed his eyes and kept them closed while he spoke.

"I think we should go cut down a Christmas tree!"

"Like with an actual ax?" I confirmed.

"No, let's do it with a butter knife," he panned sarcastically. I.N was like this. At first, he might've come across as shy and overly polite, but once you got to know him, he turned out to be a sarcastic little shit. I loved him for that.

"Okay, so where do we get a tree? Someone's backyard?" I entertained his idea.

"Well, either that or we go to a Christmas tree farm. Depends on how much of a thief you want to be."

I rolled my eyes, but unfortunately his eyes were still shut so he didn't notice this.

"Let's go then!" I said and tried to get up.

"Babe not yet, five more minutes please." He pleaded and wrapped his arms around me to keep me in place.

I gave in, just like he knew I would.

About an hour and a half later we found ourselves standing in front of a Christmas tree farm.

A worker dressed like a proper lumberjack approached us.

"Greetings! Are you folks looking for a tree?"

"Yessir," I.N replied.

"Great, follow me then and we'll get you an ax and a sled to help you guys drag the tree back here."

I knew nothing about picking out axes and I strongly suspected that my boyfriend didn't either. With the help of the worker, we picked out a medium sized ax with a yellow handle and a cover for the blade. The sled was a nice red color.

The worker left us alone with our supplies, after he'd explained how the different price ranges for trees in different sections worked.

"Let me carry the ax." I suggested. My boyfriend handed it over to me with a surprised expression.

I took the ax and sat down in the sled.

"Oh, so this was your plan all along!" He chuckled. "You want me to drag you around in the sled?"

I gave him a dashing smile and nodded. I threw in some puppy eyes as well for good measure. "It seems only fair that you drag the sled if I'm carrying the ax, but don't worry I'll give my spot to the tree once we find it."

I.N threw his hands in the air as a sign of defeat. He grabbed the rope attached to the sled and began pulling me towards the row of trees within a suitable size range.

It took us almost an hour to find the perfect tree. It was tall, but not too tall to fit indoors, and it was nicely shaped. Wide at the bottom and narrow on the top. The branches were thick and dense.

"Should we try to catch the tree or let it fall freely?" I.N pondered while circling the tree with the ax in his hand.

"I think we should try to make it fall straight into the sled." I suggested.

"You are smart." He sounded impressed. "Okay let's do this!" He gave me a quick kiss of encouragement, before attacking the trunk.

He chopped away at the tree until his cheeks became red and pearls of sweat began to form on his forehead. I adjusted the placement of the sled, but mainly I focused on admiring my boyfriend's handsomeness.

"You look really hot right now!" I commented, in hopes of encouraging him to continue.

"Well, yes this coat is thick and warm, and so is the beanie. Of course I'm hot!"

I giggled. "Yeah, I meant the other kind of hot."

A satisfactory smirk appeared on his face. "Oh, I'll take that too."

The hard work paid off and we were awarded an amazing Christmas tree. It was a bit of a struggle to get it to fit into the car, but in the end, we managed to take it all the way to our home.

"We can decorate it tomorrow," he said, "right now I need a shower."

I peeked right up at the thought of that. "Yeah, I definitely need a shower too!" I said and followed him into the bathroom.
