"Can we please just stay in tonight?" Seungmin asked. He sounded tired, which was no wonder since it had been a busy week, month and year for him.
I smiled. "Of course, we can. In fact, I would prefer staying home with you tonight."
He grabbed my hand and pulled me into him. His arms went around me, and he leaned his chin on my head. I could feel him let out a deep breath and I felt his body relax.
"I'm happy you said that," his voice bellowed from above me. "I was worried I'd ruined our date night."
I chuckled and pulled back a bit so I could see his handsome face.
"You do realize that my only requirement for a perfect date night is that you are present? You know, as my date?"
The way his eyes lit up at my words made me feel a wave of happiness. It was strange how I could make him come alive with just a few words.
Seungmin leaned in and kissed me. He had very soft lips.
I stood on my tiptoes and cupped his face between my hands. I could feel his hands on my lower back, steadying me. Kissing him felt wonderful.
When we finally pulled apart his hair was a mess, but I don't think he'd ever looked quite as good. I hoped this sight would be permanently embedded into my memory.
"Should we make some popcorn?" he asked.
I nodded eagerly. It was rare that he would treat himself with something that could be considered "unhealthy".
"Okay then, I'll go make us the popcorn and, in the meantime, you could pick a movie."
He gave me a quick kiss on the cheek before wandering off to the kitchen.
I walked into the living room and spent a solid two minutes searching for the remote. It was wedged in between the couch cushions.
I sat on the couch and opened Netflix. I could hear Seungmin humming in the kitchen. I could listen to that forever. His voice made me feel at home.
Seungmin walked over to me with a huge bowl of popcorn.
"Catch!" He hollered before throwing a piece of popcorn at me.
I wasn't known for my incredible reflexes, so it ended up hitting me in the forehead before rolling onto the ground.
My boyfriend laughed as he sat down next to me.
I snuggled into him.
"Can you hold this?" he asked and handed me the bowl.
He nodded approvingly. "Perfect, now you can hold the bowl and I can hold you."
With those words he wrapped his arm around me and pulled me closer. We ended up watching a generic Christmas movie, which I couldn't remember anything about the next morning. I only remembered the feeling of being loved and being ridiculously in love, while watching a movie with my favorite person in the world.
