"Frosty the Snowman
Was a jolly happy soul
With a corncob pipe and a button nose
And two eyes made out of coal"
I could hear Felix singing in the kitchen. One could think that a deep singing voice like his wouldn't fit with a happy Christmas song, but on the contrary. He made the song sound even better than the boring original version. I could listen to this version for days.
"Babe, I think you should record this and maybe even publish a whole album of covers of Christmas songs?" I said as I walked into the room and hugged him from behind.
I felt his whole body shake as he laughed. "I've heard worse ideas!"
"But not from me." I responded. Felix always smelled lovely. I, for once, successfully resisted the urge to sniff him.
"Are you, by chance, sniffing me?" Felix's voice sounded amused.
He knew me too well.
"I'm gonna be honest, this time I wasn't creepily sniffing you. I swear."
He turned around and smiled in a way that made my legs shaky. I tried to evade his eyes, but he used his finger to lift my chin, so I was forced to meet his gaze.
"I don't mind you creepily sniffing me," he said gently. "In fact, I think it's quite adorable."
"You're weird." I furrowed my brows and punched him playfully in the chest. A very solid chest, I might add.
"Says the one sniffing me."
With one smooth motion he picked me up in his arms and placed my face right against his neck.
"Sniff away, my love."
It was only at this point that I realized that he'd been baking. The apron should've been a clue, but I had been too busy admiring everything else about him.
I inhaled deeply. I think I noticed the scent of cinnamon and cardamom. He smelled very Christmassy.
"What have you been baking?" I was intrigued as I loved all sweet things.
"It's a cheesecake, but with Christmas-flavor."
Sounded delicious, but I couldn't help but to tease him a little. "What? So, like spruce and elves?"
My boyfriend put me back on the floor, but it was just so he could punish me by the worst method possible. Tickling.
In an instant I was rolling on the floor, desperately trying to avoid his quick fingers.
"Truce!" I managed to call in between giggling fits.
He stopped his attack for a few seconds, seemingly to consider my offer. I instantly knew what I had to do.
"Let's make a deal!" My words got his attention at once. "You stop tickling me, and I promise to play with your hair for 10 minutes tonight."
Felix loved it when I played with his hair.
"Fifteen, and we have a deal."
I accepted his counter-offer. In all honesty, playing with his hair was not really a punishment at all. Later that night when I was fulfilling my end of the deal, I fully felt like a winner.
