"So," Changbin shouted with a muffled voice, "we have at least Jenga, Monopoly, Twister and Pictionary."
I walked over to the living room and found him on all fours with his head inside a cupboard. I took a moment to appreciate his muscular back and wide shoulders. He was wearing a tight black T-shirt which made it possible to see every movement of each muscle.
A-mazing.
"Not Monopoly for sure!" I finally spoke. "That only leads to fights."
My boyfriend got up with the Jenga box in his hands. "Honestly, anything and everything with the group leads to bickering." He was smiling as he spoke.
Chanbin was very fond of the members, and over time I too had learnt to love them like brothers. They certainly could be as annoying as my brothers were growing up.
As if he'd read my thoughts, he commented on how I should be used to guys bickering and play-fighting thanks to my brothers.
"That may be true, but I've been hit in the head with the Monopoly board one too many times," I said and laughed.
Changbin kissed my forehead. "I don't think any one of us would hit you in the head with the board. Or perhaps someone will, but only if you charge too much rent."
"Geez thanks." I rolled my eyes and stuck out my tongue at him. He giggled.
"Well, the guys aren't coming over for a few more hours, so we have plenty of time to practice in the meantime. Jenga is the only game we have that is playable with two people." My boyfriend said and held up the game in question.
He grabbed my hand in his and led me over to our dinner table. Where he then proceeded to randomly empty the contents of the tower-shaped box.
I stared at him in disbelief.
"You do realize that you could've simply placed the box upside down on the table and then the tower would've been ready and playable in a second?"
He looked at me, at the pile of wooden pieces all over the table, and at me again.
Binnie cleared his throat. "Well yes, umm, of course I knew that. I just figured that since the two of us haven't built a gingerbread house this year we could at least build something together."
I laughed. "Making a Jenga tower together is such a romantic activity!" My voice was dripping with sarcasm. "And it's a very Christmassy activity too!"
"Any activity can be a Christmassy activity as long as you have the right attitude and attire." Binnie said and proceeded to fetch us an elf-hat each.
He looked adorable.
Together we stacked the pieces of wood into a tower. Our hands touched briefly every now and then, and I couldn't help but feel butterflies. Only he had ever had that effect on me.
It took us almost two hours to master the right technique, but when the rest of the members arrived, every single one of them was impressed with our newly developed skills.
When I ended up winning three times in a row, my boyfriend picked me up and spun me around while shouting "That's my girl!"
I couldn't have been any happier.
