"Babe, I think I might be coming down with something." I sounded whiny, but to be fair, I also felt crappy. My head was hurting and although I was wrapped up in a blanket, I felt cold all over.
Minho came into the living room and found me lying on the couch.
"What's wrong?" He asked, concerned.
"I don't feel too good." My voice was weak. "I know we were supposed to do something fun together today, but I don't think I can leave the house today."
Minho sat on the couch next to me and placed his palm against my forehead.
"You seem a bit hot," he sounded worried.
"I love it when you tell me I'm hot." I couldn't resist making a weak attempt at a joke.
My boyfriend smiled sweetly. It was the type of smile that was reserved for me only. A genuine smile that reached all the way to his eyes.
He cupped my face between his hands. "You are hot, and beautiful, and funny, and amazing..."
He would've kept on going if I hadn't placed my hand on his lips.
Instead of talking he started kissing my hand. It tickled me a bit.
"You probably shouldn't be doing that," I commented although I was enjoying it. "I don't want you to get sick too."
He snuggled next to me and wrapped his arms around me. "You do realize that we kissed plenty of times yesterday and that we slept in the same bed? So, if you're sick, I'm most likely going to be sick too, and at this point we can't really do anything to prevent it."
My boyfriend did have a point. I still felt like it was fine for me to get sick, but if he got sick it would affect his work and a cold could have a negative impact on his vocal cords.
"How about we still hang out but keep a bit of a distance between us?"
Minho looked like he was about to counter my suggestion with something ridiculous, like "how about you just let me cuddle with you?", but I resorted to using puppy dog-eyes. I knew making those eyes at him would make him agree with anything and everything.
"Okay," he said and sighed deeply. "Am I allowed to make you some hot chocolate though?"
I shrugged. Seemed like a fine suggestion to me.
Minho stood up and then promptly picked me into his arms. I was swaddled inside a blanket burrito, which is why a verbal protest was my sole option.
"What exactly are you doing? Put me back on the couch immediately!"
"I'm afraid I won't be doing that." Minho stated. "I'm going to carry you to the kitchen, where you can keep me company while I make us some hot chocolate."
He gently placed me on a chair by the dinner table and took out a small kettle.
"There are times when watching calories is fine, but while being sick is not one of them."
He grabbed the heavy milk and poured lots of it into the kettle. I watched him locate the cocoa powder, some sugar, and a bottle of whipped cream.
"Do you reckon we should add some caramel on top of the whipped cream?" Minho asked while stirring the milk with a whisk.
A part of me suspected that he was craving something unhealthy, since he'd been on a strict diet for the past few months. A new comeback meant a ridiculously strict regimen for nutrition and working out, which in turn meant that Minho would love nothing more than to have one cheat-day. Or even one cheat-meal.
Anddd I also really wanted the caramel.
"Yeah, let's do that!"
My boyfriend decided to try to make me feel even better by singing. I adored his voice. He sang me Christmas songs, and at some point, I began hollering suggestions.
It worked kind of like using Spotify. I could skip songs, add songs to the "list" and adjust the volume.
By the time the hot chocolates were done I felt about a million times better than before.
Minho carried the cups over to the table, and I couldn't help but to chuckle at the absolute mountains of whipped cream and caramel on top.
"It looks delicious!" I complimented his cooking skills.
He smiled shyly and handed one of the cups to me.
I took a tentative sip. The hot chocolate was yummy but very hot. The whipped cream, which I could feel some of on my nose, luckily helped even out the temperature.
"You have whipped cream on your nose," Minho stated before leaning in to kiss it away.
I didn't push him away this time and soon feeling crappy became a distant thought.
