Day 19: a snow fight with Changbin

"There is so much snow!" I exclaimed as I looked out of the window.

It had snowed a lot during the night. I loved winter mornings like this. Chilly air, frosty windows, sun rays reflecting from the snow making everything bright.

Days like these were the reason as to why winter is my favorite season.

Changbin appeared next to me and parted the curtains further, so he too could witness the beauty of this morning.

I could see his reflection in the window. I watched with a smile on my face as his eyes lit up.

"Gorgeous!"

"I know, right? We should go outdoors!" I suggested.

Changbin looked at me funny. "I meant that you look gorgeous, but I guess the weather seems okay too." He shrugged nonchalantly.

My cheeks felt hot, and I knew without looking that I bore an uncanny resemblance to a tomato. Changbin caressed my cheek.

"Yes, just as I expected, hot as a stove."

I wasn't quite sure if that was a compliment or not. Changbin was keen on handing out comments such as this; it could be interpreted as a compliment or as a jab at you. Therefore, I did what I usually do; narrow my eyes to him.

He looked back knowingly and simply stated "both".

At this point I didn't even care to roll my eyes. It was time for a change of topic.

"I challenge you to a snow fight!" I announced, hoping that my voice sounded confident. "Meet me outside in 10 minutes."

After this I turned around and dramatically walked into the hallway. I had to find the thickest pair of gloves, because I knew from experience that my fingers got cold easily. And frozen fingers meant that aiming, which was already a huge weakness of mine, became pretty much impossible.

I heard footsteps behind me. The dramatic effect of my words diminished a little when my boyfriend followed me into the hallway. I'd kind of forgotten that he'd need warm clothes too.

We got dressed in complete silence, and whenever I glanced at him, he was smirking. I wasn't quite sure if I wanted to shake him or kiss him, to get rid of that stupid smirk. I had to admit that he looked kind of hot though. Perhaps even as hot as a stove. Now I wanted to shake myself.

The snow was almost up to my knees. Snowflakes were peacefully falling to the ground all around us. It would've been the perfect time for a walk, but instead there was a brutal fight to be had.

"How many snowballs are we allowed to prepare in advance?" he asked in a serious voice, but when I turned to look at him, I noticed that he was trying very hard not to laugh. The corners of his mouth would not stop twitching.

"7," I responded, equally serious.

"Okay babe, 7 headshots incoming."

I would've liked to pretend that was an empty threat, but I was almost certain that his aim was better than mine. Not that it would take a whole lot to have better aim than me.

Once both of us finally had managed to build an arsenal of 7 snowballs, we each took 7 steps away from each other. With our ammunition placed in a pile at our feet, each one of us took one snowball into our hand.

Without having to voice the next step we turned our backs to each other, since both of us were familiar with the Wild West.

I began the countdown. "3...2...1!"

I turned around and threw the snowball somewhere in his general direction. It was clearly a miss.

I realized too late that he'd let me get in the first throw. Instead, he'd spent the time it took me to miss a shot and to fumble for more ammunition, picking up all his ammo. He kept them in a pile between his other arm and body, which left his dominant hand free.

Then he set fire.

I ducked for cover, which was a massive mistake in snow as deep as this. I was stuck, which meant that my only option was to desperately try to shield my face with my hands.

Changbin showed no mercy.

Snowballs hit me at rapid fire. I suspected he'd cheated and prepared more of them, instead of the original 7 we'd agreed on. Or perhaps he was simply taking handfuls of snow and throwing them at me.

Anyhow, I was taking an L here.

"Have you finally had enough?" He asked.

"Yes!"

"Good," he acknowledged as he swooped me into his arms as if I weighed nothing. He carried me back inside and helped me take off all my, now completely soaked, clothes.

"I think we need to take off all our clothes," Changbin suggested with a wink.

"Sure, but only if we can take a hot bath right away."

He picked me up again and this time carried me straight into the bathtub.

"Your idea was amazing by the way," he commented on the way upstairs. "First I had the pleasure to beat your ass in a snow fight, and now I get to take a bath with you!"

I punched him playfully in the chest and he laughed.
