The mirror dimension.

Nothing can affect you in the mirror dimension, Jade thought to herself.

She stood up quickly, closing her eyes and breathing out slowly. She had only ever opened the mirror dimension once, she hoped she remembered how to.

She threw her arms up and circled her right one around, creating a portal above her, and down dropped Peter.

"Wha— hey! What the hell?" He said, once he landed. "Jade?"

"I know what we can do!" She smiled happily, looking behind her at Strange. His spell was almost complete. "The mirror dimension is our only hope. If we're in it when Strange sets off the spell, we won't be affected by it!"

"What?! I— You're kidding?!" Peter jumped excitedly, grabbing her hands.

"It's not a proven fact, but it makes sense," Jade explained. She closed her eyes and let go of Peter's hands.

She tried to remember how she opened the mirror dimension before, or how Strange used to open it when they practiced.

She lifted her hand up and turned it slightly as if she was screwing in a light bulb. Suddenly, she heard a small crack and when she opened her eyes, she saw her and Peter were in the mirror dimension.

It worked, Jade thought. This is going to work.

Everything around them became altered, yet it felt so peaceful. This was the first time in forever she saw what peace could look like.

"I remember this place," Peter said, looking around in awe. "This is where I fought Stephen."

"There's Strange now. He's setting off the spell," Jade pointed up at the moving Statue of Liberty. She grabbed his hand tightly, watching as the ring from the spell moved across the bay and into the city limits.

They both closed their eyes, waiting for it to happen.

But a minute or two went by, and nothing. Jade couldn't stop thinking about it and she knew that was a good sign. But what if they left the mirror dimension and it affected them then?

"Is it over?" Peter asked, breaking the silence.

"I think— but I don't want to find out," Jade said.

"How about this?" Peter started, knowing she would need something to make her leave. "We give each other something that will remind us of the other?"

"Like what?" Jade asked, looking down.

"I'll give you my mask," Peter smiled, handing it to her.

"Then... I'll give you mine," Jade smiled, too, liking the idea.
