bonus chapterSOUL REALM
Tony opened his eyes. He didn't recognize where he was. He was somewhere else.
He looked down to see he was standing in what looked like water but it wasn't making his feet wet. His eyes widened when he saw his clothes— how did I get like this? He asked himself. He looked around, shades of oranges all mixed together, some reds here and there too. The place was quiet, there was nothing for miles, just the orange sky and the non-wet water.
But then he noticed something off in the distance. Slowly, he made his way over to the area and looked at it with confusion. It was part of his backyard. Morgan's play tent was where it always is and her small table and chairs— the exact place. This was weird.
"Hey," someone called out, making Tony turn around quickly to see a tall girl with long, curly brown hair, just standing there.
Tony walked closer, "I— do I know you?" He asked confused. It felt like he knew her but he's never seen her before.
"Um— we're pretty close, actually," she said.
Then it hit Tony, "Cause... you're Morgan,"
"Hi, dad," She said. It was an older Morgan, almost sixteen years old.
"Wow," Tony whispered grabbing her hands. "Guess it worked?"
"It did," another voice answered from behind and Tony's head turned quickly.
It was Jade, but she looked slightly older, nothing dramatically different like Morgan. Tony guessed late twenties.
"Jade..." Tony breathed out, a smile on his face. She was okay.
The older Jade walked closer to the two, "It worked... for us. Morgan got to grow up, I'm with Peter now..."
"But.. as for you, I can't answer," Morgan finished for Jade.
Tony stared off at nothing for a moment then his eyes came back to his daughters, "I'm sorry," He walked off from them, then turned around, "I think I might have just made a bad decision. I'm scared I made a mistake."
Jade and Morgan softly smiled at their dad, "I know. And I know it's going to be tuff for you to let go, but someone had to do it so the rest of us could..."
"I hated myself for a long time then, how I couldn't stop you from snapping— I kept thinking how it should have been me, how I was the one who should have done it so you could be with Pepper and Morgan and everyone else—" Jade started explaining but Tony only cut her off, placing his hands on her shoulders.
"It's not your fault—" Tony stopped her. "It's my choice."
"I'm proud of you," Morgan said and Tony looked to her. "And sad..."
"She's strong like Pep," Jade sniffed and chuckled lightly. "But she's stubborn like you."
Tony gave them a tight smile and looked down, trying not to cry in front of them.
"But I'm happy too," Morgan said. "I'm happy we had the time that we did. And that you were there for me— and you were there for Jade— and everyone else... until you couldn't be."
Tony paused for a moment, he was having second thoughts about the whole thing, wishing he could have seen his daughters grow up. But he knew the universe was giving him this moment for a reason, "If you two are happy, then I'm happy,"
He hugged his girls tightly, knowing this was his last time to probably ever see them.
"I love you," Morgan said.
"I love you, too," Jade followed.
Tony sighed happily, "I love you 3000,"
