Everything was quiet as the occupants of the room looked back and forth between Sirius and Cassiopeia. They all appeared to be thinking the same thing as Harry: when did Sirius have a kid?

Looking at the dark-haired woman, there was no doubt in Harry's mind that she was a Black. She had the same high cheekbones that Harry recognized from many of the pictures on his godfather's family tree and the same pointy nose as some of Sirius's distant relatives. He couldn't help but see many similarities between her and Sirius's mother, whose face he could still clearly picture from her dreaded portrait.

Nobody in the room seemed to know what to say. Several of them opened and closed their mouths like fish but opted to stay silent. Tonks, however, didn't appear to have this problem at all.

"You have a kid!" The metamorphmagus gasped.

"What?" Sirius shook his head. "Of course not. That isn't possible."

Remus gave his friend a small smile. "Oh, it's possible. Do I need to remind you of all the girls you shagged? All the one-night stands you had after graduating Hogwarts."

Harry suddenly felt very uncomfortable. He felt as if he should be anywhere but here. Listening to Remus talk to Sirius about his past relationships wasn't something he really wanted to hear. Not when Sirius had been like a father to him. Sure, they were a lot closer in age now since Sirius's return, but it was still weird.

"Is this really necessary?" Severus drawled. "I, for one, have no interest in hearing about Black or his love interests."

For once, Harry actually agreed with his old potions professor. For once, he was glad the man had spoken up.

Sirius ignored his enemy, still shaking his head in denial. "No, no, no, no. I was always careful."

Molly stood up. "More tea, anyone?"

"Careful or not, things happen." Remus said, ignoring Molly. "James said the same thing when Lily found out she was pregnant."

Harry frowned. Finding out he was an accident wasn't really something he wanted to hear about. He knew his parents had been young when they had him and that they were in the middle of a war, but the thought that he hadn't been planned never crossed his mind. In fact, the details of his conception had never crossed his mind at all.

"Remus." Sirius hissed as he nodded in Harry's direction.

"Erm...it's fine." Harry mumbled. "A bit awkward, maybe, but it's all good."

Sirius shook his head. "Harry, your parents loved you, planned or not." He then turned to face his friend. "Remus, there is no way that woman over there is my kid."

"Padfoot, she just said she's a Black. Up until now, we thought you were the last Black. Who else's kid could she be?"

"I don't know." Sirius shrugged. "But she's not mine." Even as he said these words, he didn't seem convinced.

"If you two are done..." Cassi began. "I'd like to start off by assuring you that Sirius is not my father."

Sirius visibly relaxed. "See." He said. "I told you."

"I'm his sister."

Whatever Sirius was expecting, it wasn't that. "That's ridiculous." He scoffed. "My parents never had a daughter. I think I'd know if they did."

Cassi shook her head. "I was born in 1977, a couple years after you left home."

Sirius frowned. "That makes no sense. My mum would have been..."

"Fifty-two." Cassi interrupted. "She was definitely older. It isn't common, but it's possible."

Sirius stared at her for a moment, mouth agape. "But you aren't on the family tree." He pointed out, as if that proved she was lying. "It's not possible..."
