❝The low phases in life recalls for our achievements in the past to charge up our dead batteries.❞

I peeked out of the door of Ved's room. He messaged me about his late arrival last night, and I took charge of his room without asking. I don't know when he arrived in the night but I remembered the sin I did yesterday. I left the living room as it was.

I didn't clean it!

I forgot, or maybe I didn't pay attention to the mess I created. I never cleaned anything, so that came naturally to me. Now I need to get out of the house without his notice or wait till he leaves, which is an impossible thing. Because I was in his room. He had to come inside to get ready for work. I am dead meat.

There are two things I am scared of. My mother and Ved's anger. I can have my way with the rest but not with them.

I walked out of the room on light feet. Hoping to get to the door and get out of the place. Anyway, I had to meet Bhai today for a meeting. He had something arranged for me. I was excited thinking about starting something new today, and in that excitement, I think I ignored everything else.

I got out and speed-walked to the door.

"Hold up."

I froze at my place and gulped the fear. "Just because you are frozen doesn't mean I can't see you," He said. I heard him walk to me, and within a few moments, he was beside me.

"I didn't do anything," I said. He nodded and scratched the side of his neck before looking around the living room.

"Then who threw those paper balls all over the place?" He asked calmly. I cleared my throat and looked around the clean room. He is superhuman. How does he manage to do this on his own?

"When did you come? I was going to clean it, but then I got distracted," I mumbled while playing with my fingers.

He watched back. "With what?"

"Hm... I was excited to get busy," I said with the widest smile, but he didn't smile back. He kept watching me with a plain face. His eyes said he was willing to eat me up, but he was holding the annoyance back.

"Kavay called. He told me you would be attending some meetings for that single today. Are you sure about this?" He asked. I frowned.

"Does he keep updating you about my schedule?" I asked. He sighed. "Look, Ayra... I spend long days at work. Some days are very frustrating. I at least expect some peace here, but I have to clean the mess in the living room as well as in the kitchen at 12.30 in the night. How do you expect me to behave on that?" He asked.

I looked away. "I said sorry," I said.

"When?" He asked while folding his hands over his chest.

I sighed deeply as I watched him again. "I am not used to cleaning up, Ved. I can't adapt to the changes that fast. Give me time. The best thing is that we can keep a maid. I will pay," I said. He looked annoyed for a few moments as he stared deep inside my soul. I thought he would hit me, but he looked away.
