❝I first belonged to you, Love was a late realisation.❞

I lowered my head as I stood by his door. Baba kept his hand over my head and moved it up. "Adjust your gesture. Why are you looking as if you did something wrong," He said.
I couldn't say anything. The door unlocked, and Ved opened it. Something shifted inside me. I felt so much better to see him again. His eyes moved from me to Baba. He smiled at him.
"Come inside, uncle," He said. Baba pushed me inside before following me. "Nothing has changed here," Baba said while looking around.
Ved looked a little nervous. He is always that way when Baba is around. He says he feels intimidated by him. Baba's personality is that way. Anyone could feel it. I can understand him.
"Oh, you guys want privacy? I can go out," Baba asked when Ved and I didn't speak. We both shook our heads.
"I don't have anything to say to her," He said while looking away.
"I'll be going back home, Ved," I said. He nodded. "I figured that out. It's good. I am happy for you," He said plainly. It hurt me.
Why does it hurt? What is wrong? I shouldn't feel this. I am scared of this feeling. What if it is what I think it is? I might ruin everything we have or had. I can't do that to us.
"I have to be at work, Uncle. I will get going," He said. Baba nodded. "Come for dinner in the evening. I hope you won't say no," He said.
Ved looked torn. He might have wanted to refuse but couldn't do so. He nodded finally. "Yes, I will come after work," He said and took his bag before walking to the door. He stopped for a while and turned back as he walked to Baba.
"Uncle, what about media? They would have gathered there," he said. Baba nodded.
"Don't worry. We will be fine. Just call me before you come. I'll tell you a secret way," He said with a proud smile. Secret way. He found it for Mamma. He wouldn't be there at home on many days, so he made a separate entrance in the back. It is well-covered, so no one has found it yet.
Ved nodded. "Alright. If anything, call me," he said.
Baba nodded. "You take care."
Ved left like that without even looking at me once. It hurt me, but I couldn't show it in front of Baba. I watched him once the door was locked.
He raised his eyebrows. "Should we?" He asked. I nodded.
"Seems like you have gotten comfortable here that you don't want to go out," He asked. I shook my head. "It's nothing like that. I was just upset that Ved would take it in a wrong way," I said. He chuckled.
