Ayra's POV

I walked back and forth and back many times while deciding what to do. Should I meet him? What if he is plotting something against me? What if our pictures get leaked in media? What if this gets messier? I can't take a chance. It's better to see him directly at the meeting with Bhai.

I looked at his message and read it again.

He replied with 'sure' to my last message. Was he being genuine, or was he playing around? If he is messing with me, then I'll kick his guts.

I looked at the door while hearing ruffle. Ved unlocked it and walked inside. He looked tired. His hair was messed up. He wore a beige shirt and black pants. The ID card hung through his neck. He got out of the shoes and walked into the living room. I kept quiet while thinking about our morning encounter.

I quickly glanced at the living room. It was neat today, considering I didn't do anything but think about the message Ruhaan sent me. I watched him again carefully to check his mood. He kept his backpack on the ground and settled on the sofa.

"Are you still mad at me?" I asked with great efforts. He sighed as he watched me. I quickly moved my gaze away.

"How was your meeting?" He asked.

I smiled and walked to him. I settled beside him on the sofa and faced him. "That jerk didn't show up," I complained.

"So I walked out too. But not before showing the asshole his real place. What does he think of himself? Does he look down at me that he sent his manager to the meeting?" I asked. Ved smiled lightly before getting comfortable on the sofa.

Thank goodness he is in a good mood today.

"Maybe in one's downfall, everyone acts this way..." I mumbled again. "Everyone faces it once in a while," He said.

"You did, too?" I asked. He gave me a look. "Are you mocking me? When did my career glorify?" He asked.

I shrugged and let myself fall against the backrest. I kept my head on it and stared at him. "You are still hardworking and dedicated towards your work. I am sure you are doing amazingly good," I said.

He watched me suspiciously for a few moments. He took his time before adjusting in his seat to face me. "What do you want from me? You are being nice," He said. I rolled my eyes before looking ahead.
