❝Deep conversations with the right people are priceless.❞

I looked around the living room while sitting on the couch at Zoya's apartment. She called me last night and asked to visit. I asked her the reason, which she didn't mention, so I wasn't sure. I was thinking of skipping it, but Baba overheard me and kicked me out of the house. So, right now, here I am.
She walked to the living room with two mugs and a big smile. She kept one mug before me and settled on the opposite couch.
I tilted my head down to check the liquid inside. It was coffee I knew, but the smell was a bit different. "Did you mix anything in it?" I asked.
"It is flavoured coffee. I heard you like berries," she said. I nodded. "You scare me," I mumbled while taking my mug.
"Of what?" She asked. "I am scared of my fans now. Everyone seemed to have stabbed my back," I said in a low voice.
"Ignore those pathetic losers. I have read that shit about myself, too. People have called me talentless. They pass racist comments on me. They have body-shamed me as I'm a little healthy," She said. I watched me with attention.
"That's not even true. Besides, you look beautiful," I mumbled and looked away when she smiled.
"That's what I am trying to tell. You have ruled many stadiums in the past decade. Your shows run sold out no matter where they are being held. What makes you doubt yourself?" I asked. I sighed but stayed quiet.
"If Ruhaan or I doubt it, then fine, but you are a star, Ayra. Don't lower your worth," She said ahead.
"How's Ved doing? Did you sort it out?" She asked. I watched her again. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have. It's not my business," She added immediately.
I shook my head. "I cried my heart out here. What is there to hide?"
"I guess you are aware which is good," She said. I nodded.
"I am not sure what it is, but it sure is something special," I said with a faint smile. She smiled. "Yes, I sorted or cleared it. He looked fine, but we didn't speak after it. It's been a couple of days, and he is either busy or he is still avoiding me," I added further with a frown. I called that jerk a few times and all the while he said the same thing.
'I am busy! I will call you in 2 hours.' But it's been 2 days yet it's the same. Is he avoiding me? No, he must be busy. Yes, he is busy. Ved is just like that. If we start counting the times when I haven't received his calls or avoided his messages because of my busy schedule then we might need to write a book on it. Let's not go there. I feel bad even thinking about it.
"Then come to Alwar with us. Nitara said you refused," She said. I raised my eyebrows. "Are you in touch with Nitara?" I asked. She nodded rapidly.
"We bonded well at the movie. We exchanged numbers," She said. I made an impressive face.
