I froze as I heard the door open. I glanced at Bonnie and Pete as we were all setting the table as we caught up. I heard a few other voices as I slowly left the dining room.
"Hey, angel," Dylan sighed, slightly out of breath as he rushed to my side. He wrapped an arm around my waist and kissed the side of my face. "You look amazing."
I blushed, mumbling a thank you as I took in the other three guest. Cole, Lili and the man I knew was their father. He looked less friendly and far more intimidating than the pictures I've seen. His lips were pursed. And Lili looked highly uncomfortable while Cole looked bored. I felt like I was missing out on something.
"Dad this is Olivia," Dylan introduced. "This is my dad, Matthew—Matt."
"It's so nice to meet you," I said, smiling as I nervously stuck out my hand, expecting him to take it.
"Dad," Dylan and Cole both chided.
Matt smiled then as if being a joke, "It's nice to meet you too." He shook my hand then, giving it a firm and steady shake.
