I was checking my phone to see if Dylan returned my calls or texts. He must still be at work. And forgotten or time slipped him by. I sighed in defeat, anxious. I shoved my phone back in my purse and instead went to nervously, twiddling my thumbs.
That was until the hospital room opened and my doctor came back in with her clipboard. She lowered and gave me a sympathetic and solemn expression. "I'm sorry, Olivia, you're not pregnant," she told me as she sat down on the stool in front of where I sat on the hospital bed.
"But I took a test," I argued, placing my hands over my stomach as my heart began to pound in my rib cage. Not pregnant? No. No. No!
