I slid between the dogs at the front door, who gathered excitedly when there was knocking. I grabbed the door knob and took a deep breath before opening it to reveal Dylan. "Hey," I greeted him, breathless.

He looked like he hadn't slept in days. Or brush his hair. Yet he still managed to look handsome and part of me itched to hug him tight. "Hey," he said, voice raspy.

"Thanks for coming," I said softly, stepping back for him to come in. He gave the dogs both pats on the back as he ushered them out of the doorway so I could close it behind him. "Happy birthday."

He cracked a smile, "Thanks, Angel."

I placed a hand on his bicep and gave him a nod forward. I guided him to where I had a breakfast spread on the coffee table. "I hope you're hungry," I said. "Figured we could eat and talk."

He raised a brow, "Olivia..."

He looked hesitant to come in. And I understood that he wouldn't want to get his hopes up. So I cut to the chase, "You can relax. I don't want to break up."

He let out a sigh of relief and his green eyes got that pretty twinkle in them. "Really?"

I slid my hand down his arm until I reached his, slipping my fingers between his. "It's your birthday and we didn't celebrate last year. I couldn't bear the thought of missing out this year too. So... breakfast?" I shrugged.

"You didn't have to do this."

"I know, but I missed you. And it's not every day your fiancé turns 30."

"You still want to marry me?"

"I do," I stated. "But I want to push the date back. I think we need more than two months to get things back on track."

He nodded, "I understand."

"Let's sit, please," I breathed out. He chuckled, leading me to the couch. We sat with our knees touching as I handed him a plate. "Help yourself."

"What I want isn't on that table," he said, giving me a small smirk.

"Boy you are in the dog house," I retorted, grabbing a waffle to put on my plate. Dylan laughed as he began to make his own plate. We remained quiet for a while as we started to eat. For the first time there was an awkwardness between us.

"So I'm going out to dinner with a few friends," he said then. "I don't know if you'd want to come with me. But I'd like that."

I grimaced, "I don't know, Dyl. Are you friends really my biggest fans right now?"

"It's just Cole and his new girlfriend, Charles, Hart, Stella, Debby and Josh, and Jacob and his new girlfriend."

"Jacob Elordi?"

"Yeah, him and Kaia broke up like a month ago."

"I know that. I just didn't know he's seeing anybody. I saw him for his birthday last month."

"It's new," Dylan chuckled.

"Whatever," I pouted.

"So you'll go?"

I sighed again. It was Cole's birthday too. And he never switched up on me. Besides most of them were my friends too. Hart and Stella may not be my biggest fans. But Charles, Debby and Josh just wanted him to be happy. And Dylan wanted me. That's what makes him happy.

"Fine, yes," I said. "But since it's not until tonight. Can you move back in here?"

"Really?" He gasped.

"You'll be sleeping on the couch," I hurried up to say. "But I want you home. The dogs miss you. And I want to keep tabs on your ass."

He chuckled, "I'm sharing my location with you."
