The timer went off and I nearly jumped off the bathroom counter. I hurried to grab the pregnancy test to see the results. My period was a week late, and although it was possible that it was stress, I was hopeful. Granted having sex everything since my birthday... was not long enough to make me pregnant yet. I was banking on positive results from the few times we did it last month like on Valentine's Day.
"Angel!" A shout came.
My heart sank. One line. Not pregnant. I closed my eyes as I willed myself not to cry. "Angel!" Another yell.
"Bathroom," I finally answered.
"Getting ready for tonight?" Dylan asked as he came barging through. "Oh, no. What's wrong?"
"Not pregnant," I answered. "My period is late."
"Oh, okay. Come here."
He pulled me in his arms and I just lost it. I sobbed into his chest while he stayed strong and steady, holding me tight until I felt okay.
