Chapter 38

"But my friends call me Tex" Vortex tells Loona, keeping his chill stature.

"Oh yeah? I wish I had friends, eh heh heh, haha, I mean- I don't- I've- I don't have friends" Loona replied awkwardly, playing with her hair.

"Really? What about your boyfriend?" Vortex asked, raising an eyebrow.

"My boyfriend?" Loona asked back in confusion.

"Yeah, him" The hellhound clears, pointing to (y/n) who was approaching them.

He also had an expression of upsetness on his face, carrying a sad tired frown.

Loona then looked at the boy and blushed.

"Oh no no no! He's not my b-boyfriend! He's just...... some guy I'm working with, I mean- that would be really weird right? Demons and Humans having a thing for each other? Heh......" she stated nervously, avoiding eye contact with the hellhound.

"Hey, I'm a demon, not an angel, so I won't judge" Vortex commented, calming Loona down. 

(Y/n) then met up with the two, greeting them both.

"Um, hey Loona, and uh..... Vortex?" He said, looking up to the hellhound.

Vortex was tall, and big, and so his stature was a bit intimidating to (y/n).

He'd be lying if he said he didn't want to walk away from him.

"Yeah, that's me, and..... you are?" The hellhound asked.

"I'm..... (y/n), nice to meet you" (y/n) told him, giving a warm smile.

"Nice to meet ya too man, crazy to see a human working with demons" Vortex returned with a chuckle.

"Also, relax, I won't hurt ya, just make sure not to bother my boss" he added, sensing his fear.

"Huh? Oh yeah heh..... don't worry, I promise that won't be happening....."
(Y/n) replied, sighing as he stared down at the sandy floor.

Suddenly, Blitzo appeared between Loona, (y/n) and Vortex, catching them all off guard.

"Am I interrupting something?" The imp asked.

"Nah man, just having a conversation" Vortex answered.

"Conversation leads to h.p.v" Blitzo replied, poking Vortex.

And in the distance, Moxxie and Millie watched.

"Annnnd we lost him" Moxxie says with a sigh, as he and his wife hid behind a few barrels of beer.

He then turns his attention to Millie and lays his head on his palm.

"It's looking like it's up to us to handle this list......" He adds, rolling his eyes.

Millie smiles and throws her arms in the air.

"Hell yeah! Team M n M getting shit done, making the money!" She says, wrapping her arm around Moxxie's shoulder.

She then grabbed Moxxie by his hand, and pulled him, speedily leading the two of them off the beach, and towards some buildings, where they began their killing spree of targets.

Loona covered her face in annoyance.

"Blitzo get the fuck out of here, you're gonna get us all into shit!" she said, upset with her father.

A few people then turned their heads, looking at (y/n) and the demons.

But they then decided to stop looking, ignoring them and focusing back on Verosika's party.

'Woah, these people really don't care about seeing a demon?' (y/n) thought.

It was surprising to (y/n) that they did that, considering that Blitzo wasn't in disguise.

But then again, it was as the imp said before, earth's full of freaks and people would just assume his kind is a part of them.

On top of that, a lot of the people at the beach were drunk and drugged up, too distracted with Verosika's event to notice or think about it.

"I just wanted to see what was so important that you'de be distracted from your job" Blitzo replied.

The hellhound then pulled her father aside, asking him a question, "What? I can't have a break?"

"We have a parking spot in the line!" Blitzo yelled, causing Loona to pull her head away.

Vortex then stepped up to the imp.

"Hey dude, why don't you chill out?" He asked, making Loona blush at his defence.

"Yeah man, I think you're over reacting....." (Y/n) added, looking away and rubbing his arm.

"Why don't you stay out of it!? Both of you! Okay? This is our business" Blitzo responded, before looking at Loona.

"Literally" he adds, holding up a drawn picture with his tail that signifies killing targets equals money, and money equals a horse.

'When did he draw that?' (y/n) wondered.

Fed up with his act, Loona snapped at Blitzo, "rrrrr fuck Blitzo! Why can't you just stay out of my face for five minutes!?"

"Because I adopted youuuu, and that should mean something!" Blitzo answers, before turning his back on Loona and folding his arms to a pout.

"Oh! What does it matter? You're not even my real dad! I was almost eightteen!" Loona stated.

As they argued, (y/n) and Vortex would look at eachother, both feeling uncomfortable with the moment.

"It still counts!" Blitzo argued back.

"Well it shouldn't, I didn't need you then asshole! I don't now!....." Loona yelled, turning her back on him as well, even folding her arms.

A quiet moment then passed between the two, and Loona would feel guilty.

She's never really yelled at Blitzo before.

She has, but not like this.

This was different, it was more emotionally and personally driven, and so it felt more impactful.

Loona sighed in sadness, looking at the beach.

"Uuuh Blitzo..... I'm-" Loona tried to speak, but was stopped by the imp.

"Enjoy your break, Loonie..... I'm gonna go kill something!" Blitzo says, pointing a thumb at himself before walking away.

"Ugh......" Loona groaned.

"Damn girl, that was savage, you okay?" Vortex asked.

Loona blushed at his comment.

"Yeah, I'm fine, he'll get over it...... he always does" she answered, frowning softly.

"I'm glad you could stick up for yourself atleast, mmm, takes guts" Vortex complimented.

Loona smiled, feeling a bit comforted.

"Thanks" she replied, brushing away her hair.

Looking at the two, (y/n) shook his head softly.

He knew what it was like to argue with someone.

Especially with someone you love.

Sadly, it's not an uncommon thing, and the same even went for demons.
