Chapter 95

(Y/n) and Moxxie were finally finished with the dummy section of the obstacle course race, leaving the last few dummies behind them and running towards the last part of the race.

The D-Day inspired field.

(Y/n) Would be lying if he said he wasn't scared of this section.

Were any of the imps scared too?

Because if they weren't, either they were super brave, or super stupid.

Now that he thought about it, why would he let himself enter the pain games?

Knowing he could die?

Well, it didn't matter now, as it was too late to back out.

"Two more of our players have gotten through the dummies! Will the rest of the imps make it through!?" Wally announced.

"There's just one last part to this race, the D-Day field!" Moxxie stated.

"Yeah, I know....." (Y/n) replied, with concern slipping through his words.

Again, we was scared of this last section.

Noticing his worry, Moxxie tried to cheer him up, "H-hey, don't worry, we'll get through this, even if you don't win the race, we'll make it out alive!"

The boy glanced at the short imp and replied, "I hope so....."

'Do you even know what D-Day was like?' (y/n) wondered, thinking about that awful time of war.

The two were then approaching the next section, and ahead of them, there was what looked like a body of "water", that reached from one end of the fence to their sides, to the other.

If was obvious they were about to have to swim.

And in front of the body of water, was a shore, with sand, that made it a "beach".

But before the shore, there was small metallic boats, that looked just like the higgins boats that were used on d-day.

And on the beach, were large iron x-shaped structures, that could be used as cover from the turrets, like the ones on d-day as well.

On D-day, these X-shaped metal structures were called "Czech Hedgehogs," or just "hedgehogs" for short.

Stolas wasn't kidding when he said this last section was inspired off that terrible day.

But it was a wonder how it was so similar, whoever designed this course, how did they know so much?

And there was Blitzo and Striker, behind two of said structures, using them as cover from the firing turrets.

"Is that water?" (Y/n) asked.

"It looks like a beach, except we're at the end of it......" Moxxie said.

"Yeah, guess we'll have to swim to get across" (y/n) replied.

Upon reaching the body of water, they stopped and looked down at it.

"You know how to swim right?" (Y/n) Asked the imp, looking at him.

"Y-yeah, it's just that I wasn't planning on getting wet......" Moxxie answered.

The boy then turned his attention back to the water, and replied, "Neither was I....."

Wally then talked to his audience, "Two more players have made it to D-Day! Will they survive it!? N also, the other imps have gotten through the dummies, and are on their very way!"

(Y/n) And Moxxie then looked behind themselves, and surely enough, Wally was telling the truth.

The wrath ring imps were behind them, at least the ones that were still alive so far, were now catching up to them.
