Chapter 180 - "Where does it hurt? Let me see." (2)
It was, after all, her problem at first that had caused all this. Cheng Huan felt a little bit of a guilty conscience and put away her cellphone. Putting her arms around XingXing, she asked him tentatively, "How'd you like to go to a different kindergarten, darling?"
"Why do I need to go to a different kindergarten?"
"Because your kindergarten is now closed and you will need to go to a different one."
"Can I just not go to school at all?" XingXing stood on the couch and glued onto Cheng Huan. "I want to stay home with Mommy."
Cheng Huan, "......"
"Um, no, you can't."
The little kiddo gave a long, drawn out "ooooh". XingXing pushed his lips out unhappily and said, "Well, okay, I guess a different kindergarten is fine then."
"Good boy." Cheng Huan gave him a peck on his cheek and asked without much sincerity in her voice. "Any particular one that you want to go to?"
That was, of course, just nonsense. XingXing was still a child. How could he possibly know of any other schools?
At least that was what Cheng Huan thought. She hadn't expected that she'd actually hear anything meaningful from XingXing and only paused symbolically to wait for an answer from him.
Nevertheless...
"I want to go to Mars Kindergarten."
"This is a pretty good school, why don't you take a look.... Huh? How did you know about that kindergarten?" asked Cheng Huan, surprised.
XingXing had just taken apart his water mill blocks and trying to find the very bottom piece. He paused what he was doing, thought about it for a second, and said, "Daddy told me about it."
Ah, so he had already started the process. Here she thought he was really as laid back as he had presented.
Cheng Huan was a little surprised at first. Then she just wanted to laugh. After she was done laughing, she consented. "Okay, Mars Kindergarten it is."
After all, this particular kindergarten was raved about in the parents' chat group. As a parent, one would always want their children to have the best.
She felt that perhaps she should have a little bit more faith in Jiang MingYuan at the same time. When he said he'd take care of the kindergarten, he kept his words. Perhaps he would also be able to keep his words when he said he would keep Madam Jiang from harassing the two of them.
After all, it had been a long while since then and she had yet seen any moves from Madam Jiang.
Cheng Huan felt that the weight that had been weighing down on her had been lifted once she had made that decision. She felt much relieved. Taking a deep breath, she continued to negotiate with XingXing about other conditions that come with switching to a new kindergarten.
"If we are switching to a different school, we will need to move to a new place as well. How would you like to move to Daddy's place?"
XingXing stopped what he was doing. His eyes widened and he looked shocked. The block he was holding fell out of his hand. After a few seconds, a different look crept up onto the little kiddo's face. He shouted out in joy, threw himself into Cheng Huan's arms, and said he wanted to move.
"Are you really that excited about it?" The little kiddo jumped around so much that Cheng Huan almost lost her balance. Cheng Huan had to struggle to stop herself from falling down.
XingXing bounced around so much that he was panting by the time he finally stopped. Grinning from ear to ear, he said repeatedly told her how happy he was. "Are we moving today, Mommy? Daddy said the new house is really, really big!"
Awesome. Here she thought her son didn't know any of it when, in reality, the father and son had already talked about it a long time ago. Cheng Huan hrumped to herself and pinched XingXing's nose pretending that she was upset. "You little traitor. What else did Daddy say?"
"Daddy said that Mommy doesn't want to move," said XingXing, his voice deep. After he had said that, his little face became dispirited. "Does Mommy not want to live with Daddy? But all of the other kids' parents always live together."
Of course Cheng Huan was going to deny it on front of her son. "That's not true.
"We were just tied up by others matters up to this point. Am I not telling you that we will be moving now?" said Cheng Huan.
That seemed to make sense. XingXing thought about it and nodded. "Then let's tell Daddy and have him go pick us up, Mommy."
