Eiser's POV
I don't know what she's thinking, or what she's going to do. That's what intrigued me about Serena in the first place. I always anticipate peoples next moves, but with Serena, I never know what she's going to do next.
Her unpredictability attracted me to her. She fought so hard for me to go away, I would've if it weren't for Iansa being ill and Serenity falling apart.
She gets up and reaches her hand out. "Come, let's walk for a bit." She says with a smile on her face. I never can predict what this girl's going to do, can I?
I intertwine my hand in hers and get up. Her hand fits perfectly with mine. This isn't the first time we've held hands, and I don't want to admit it, but I enjoy these moments with Serena. A little vulnerability from both of us. Like we're in a real marriage.
We walk around the city, the whole time, Serena's been admiring the bright lights and beautiful setting. We still haven't said a word to each other, and I don't intend to, as her mood might be ruined.
Serena almost never goes out without a car, especially at night. It's probably her first time in years taking a stroll at night in the city, even for me.
"Eiser," Serena calls my name and I turn to her as we keep walking. "I want to take you to a special place." Serena says, her doe eyes staring into mine. I nod and call for a taxi and it stops in front of us.
After a few minutes the driver drops us off to a less crowded place. I tip the driver and follow Serena up a hill. A large tree stands tall on top of the hill, and Serena sits under it and taps next to her. I sit down and place my coat over her as it's getting quite chilly. I faint blush covers her cheeks but I pretend to not notice to not embarrass her.
"Eiser,"
"Yes?"
"This place, it's special to me. Me and my family used to do picnics here. Me and Harper would run around the tree as mom and dad tried to catch us. What I'm saying is, this place holds special memories, and I only bring people here who are close to me. Who I trust and are special to me." Serena softly mutters, as she looks down avoiding my eyes.
Why is my heart beating this loud...
