Steve had convinced Jonathan to drop him off at Dustin's house so that he could pick up the car, and they also went to buy food in the process. It was a quick run, but we hadn't eaten all day and we needed energy if we were going to continue.

"It's not like it was before. It's grown. A lot. And, I mean, that's considering we can get in there. The place is crawling with those dogs." Hopper sighed.

"Demo-dogs" Dustin corrected.

"I'm sorry, what?" Hopper raised his eyebrow at him.

"I said, uh, Demo-dogs. Like Demogorgon and dogs. You put them together, it sounds pretty badass-"

"How is this important right now?" Hopper interrupted.

"It's not. I'm sorry." Dustin said quietly and turned away.

The guys walked in at the same time. They set down the snacks they had bought in the living room and headed into the dining room where we were all discussing.

"I can do it." Eleven and I said at the same time.

"I'm sorry, do what?" Steve asked as he came and stood behind the chair that I was sitting in.

"Close the gate. Go back to the lab and close the gate." I explained.

"You guys aren't hearing me." Hopper interjected.

"We're hearing you. We can do it." I replied.

"Even if they can, there's still another problem. If the brain dies, the body dies." Mike reminded.

"I thought that was the whole point?" Max asked.

"It is, but if we're really right about this...I mean if El and Sof close the gate and kill the Mind Flayers army-"

"Will's a part of that army." Lucas interjected.

"Closing the gate will kill him." Mike finished.

We all deflated because we had to find a solution to that before we could close the gate. I'm not going to sacrifice my brother to save the world. I'm not.

My head fell into my hands and I let out a deep sigh. I looked over at Mom and she looked like a million thoughts were running through her mind. Then suddenly, she stood up from her chair and motioned for Jonathan and I to follow her. I stood from my seat and followed her out of the room with Jonathan and everyone else behind us. We followed her into Will's room where he was laying on the bed.

A cool breeze came into the house. I looked over at the open window.

"He likes it cold." Mom whispered and looked at me.

"Honey, it's not hot. You need to raise your temperature."

"No. He likes it cold."

Will had said this to me and Mom. He was ice cold and we tried to warm him up, but he didn't want to. He didn't want to because he likes it cold.

The realization dawned on me. I walked over and shut the window.

"What?" Hopper asked.

"It's what Will kept saying to me and Sofie. He likes it cold. We keep giving it what it wants." Mom explained.

"If this is a virus, and Will's the host, then..." Nancy trailed off.

"Then we need to make the host uninhabitable." Jonathan concluded.

"So if he likes it cold..." Nancy began again.

"We need to burn it out of him." Mom concluded.

"We have to do it somewhere he doesn't know this time." Mike said.
