"It's a trap! It's a trap!" We were still struggling with the soldiers to let us through when the alarm started blaring throughout the lab.

"We're too late." I whispered slowly, losing all hope.

"What?" Bob faced me.

"We're too late!" I pushed the soldiers off of me and ran back to Will's room. Mike was close behind me.

Once we made it into the room Mom turned around to look at us.

"What's going on?" She asked frantically.

"We're under attack." Mike responded.

I walked over to the counter that had all the medicines the nurses had been using on Will and picked up the needle with sleeping drugs in it.

I turned around and showed it to Mom. "We have to put Will to sleep."

"What? Why?" Mom was still confused.

"He's a spy. If he knows where we are, so does the shadow monster."

"No! They're lying! They're lying! They're lying! They're lying!" Will was hysterically yelling at Mom to try and make her believe him.

"Will! Stop! Calm down!"

"They're lying! They're lying! They're lying!"

"Will, do you know who I am?" Mom asked trying to confirm whether this was truly Will or not.

"They're lying! They're lying!"

"Do you know who I am?!" Mom shouted finally getting his attention.

He stared at her blankly.

"You're..." He began but couldn't seem to piece it together. "You're... you're Mom!"

Mom looked over at me and I nodded my head. She turned away from me and looked at Bob.

"Hold him down."

"What? No! No! Let me go! Let me go!"

"Will, I'm sorry!"

"Let me go! Let me go! Let me go!"

Mike covered his ears and I hugged him trying to calm my own anxiety. I felt tears brimming my eyes as I listened to Will scream.

"Let me go! Let me go. Let me...." His head dropped down and his eyes closed.

We were all trying to catch our breath after what we had just done. The room was completely silent and then the door flew open. I jumped back pulling Mike with me because I was still holding him.

Hopper and Dr. Owens were in the doorway. Hopper looked all around the room confused. He opened his mouth to say something, but there was a low growl coming from what sounded like down the hall.

I looked out the door and saw the doors Mike and I were at minutes ago starting to break.

"What the hell is that?" I asked no one in particular.

Hopper turned around quickly and then turned back to us. "We gotta go. We gotta go!" He shouted to us while running over to Will's bed and pulling all of the machines off of him.

Hopper picked Will up and started rushing towards the open door. Dr. Owens rushed Mike and I over to the door and on our way out I grabbed the bottle of sleeping medication and kept following Hopper. I was still holding onto Mike for dear life. Everyone was out of the room and we were following Hopper straight down the hall. We were coming up on two hallways that led to the stairwells when a soldier flew across the hallway with something that looked like a dog on him. We all stepped back to try and go the other way, but a soldier came into view from behind us rapidly shooting at something. I didn't know what was happening until Dr. Owens pushed all of us into a small room and locked the door behind us.

"What... is happening?" I looked over at Hopper who was lying Will down on a table below the window.

No one answered my question.

"Oh my god" Bob whispered as he faced the several screens showing the footage of the security cameras around the lab.

There were so many dead bodies. They were everywhere. Around every corner, sprawled across the ground. I felt sick to my stomach. I watched as all those creatures that looked like dogs roamed through the halls and around the lab. We watched people run, get caught and killed in a matter of seconds. We were all watching the screens until the lights started flickering again and the room went dark. It stayed dark.

"We have to get out of here" Hopper told Dr. Owens.

Dr. Owens pulled out a map and handed Hopper a flashlight. He unrolled the two maps and pulled out a pen.

" Look ,this is us, and this is the nearest exit. But even if we somehow make it there, there's no way out." Dr. Owens explained.

"What do you mean?" Hopper asked him in response.

"The locks are fail secure."

"Fail secure?" Mom asked Dr. Owens, confused.

"If there's a power outage, the building goes on full lockdown."

"Can it be unlocked remotely?"

"With a computer, sure, but somebody's gotta reset the breakers."

"Where are the breakers?"

"Breakers are in the basement, three floors down."

I watched Hopper nod his head, pick up that map and start heading towards the door.

"Hey, where are you going?" Bob asked following close behind him.

"To reset the breakers."

"Okay, then what?" Bob and Hopper were talking back and forth between each other.

"Then we get the hell out of here."

"No, then the power comes back on. If you wanna unlock the doors, you have to completely reboot the computer system, and then override the security codes with a manual input." Bob explained quickly.

"Fine, how do I do that?" Hopper sighed.

"You can't. Not unless you know BASIC." Bob said like he was stupid.

"I don't know what that means."

"It's a computer programming language." Mike and I said at the same time.

"Teach it to me." I rolled my eyes hearing Hopper say this.

"Shall I teach you French while I'm at it Jim? How about a little German?" Bob scoffed then turned to Dr. Owens. "How about you, Doc? You speak BASIC?"

Dr. Owens looked at him then concluded and sighed, "No."

"Okay, I got this." Bob whispered to himself.

"Got what?" I asked.

"I got this." Bob turned and nodded his head at Hopper.

"No. Bob." Mom began and stepped over to him.

"It's okay. It's gonna be okay. Remember, Bob Newby, superhero." Bob whispered to Mom as he pulled her into a hug.

"I'll go with him." I blurted out to them.

"No, Sofie. You're not going anywhere." Hopper snapped at me.

"He can't go alone. I can protect him and me."

"Sofie, Hop's right. It's not safe out there. You're staying here." Mom added and out her hand down on my shoulder.

"Don't worry Sofie. I'll be okay. It's your turn for movie night. I'm not gonna miss it." Bob smiled at me reassuringly. Hopper and Bob stepped out of the room. They were outside for a while and then Hopper came back.

Now all there was to do was wait and let the anxiety set in.
