"I am such an idiot." I mumbled as I stood in the same spot since Steve left.

I made a really big mistake. We almost kissed. This wasn't supposed to happen! This is awful. I'm awful!

I decided to suck it up for now and head into the kitchen. Mom was in there with Bob.

How and why was he always here this early?

"Hey Sof!" He said, a little cheery for how early it was.

"Hey Bob."I offered him a small smile.

"Hey, that was such a nice thing for that boy to do. The one who dropped you off last night. I don't think I saw him leave though."

My eyes widened a little bit, but I saved myself. "He did. He left a little bit after he dropped me off."

"Why was your door locked?" Mom asked, turning to look at me from the stove.

"He might've locked it when he left. You know I don't lock my door."

"Yeah." Mom said quietly.

"Yeah." I responded back.

"Sof, can you go get your brothers please?"

"Yeah." I turned on my heel and walked out of the kitchen.

I walked down the hall and knocked on Jonathan's door first.

"Jonathan! Mom said to get up!"

"Leave me alone!"

"Jonathan!"

"Fine!"

I smiled victoriously and walked further down the hall to Will's door.

"Will! It's time for breakfast!"

There was no reply.

"Will! Buddy, are you awake?" I knocked again and there was still no reply.

I opened the door and he was sitting at his desk. He was drawing or coloring.

"Will?" I walked over to his desk and he was indeed coloring. It looked like a spider thing.

"Will, what is that?" He wouldn't stop coloring.

"Will? Will, I'm talking to you. Will. Will!" I put my hand down on his shoulder and he stopped.

"Sofie, why didn't you knock?"

"I did knock. Several times."

"I didn't hear you."

"I noticed. What were you drawing?"

"Nothing." He said quickly while covering the paper. I watched his eyes look down at the hand I had on his shoulder. "What happened to your hand?"

"What?" I looked down at my wrist. It was purple. "What the hell?"

"Did something happen?"

"I'm not sure, but don't worry about me. I'm fine. Mom said it's time for breakfast. Let's go."

"I'll go in a minute."

I left the room and walked back to the kitchen.

Everything about Steve was circling throughout my head all day. I struggled to pay attention in class and then I didn't have the guts to meet Steve for lunch. I would stick to my promise about going to see him during basketball practice.

I walked into the gym once sixth period had ended and took a seat on the bleachers. I set down my backpack and pulled out my book. As I was reading, the noise in the gym started to get louder and louder.
