Steve's Pov

"I cannot believe you sided with all those little shits over me." I grumbled at Sofie while we flashed out flashlights around the dark tunnels.

"I had agreed with them before we even left the house, so I don't know why you're surprised." She shrugged simply and looked away.

"I've always had your back."

"Steve." She warned.

"Okay, most of the time I've had your back, but really? Them over me?"

"Of course. Those are my boys." I saw her eyes crinkle and I knew she was smiling.

I shook my head and continued forward. We were walking down the same tunnel until we came to a big clearing.

"God." One of the boys whispered as we looked around.

There were bones and god knows what else on the ground.

"What is this place?" Dustin asked and looked at me and Sofie.

We shrugged our shoulders and looked away. I looked to my right to another tunnel and then down at the map.

"Guys, come on. Keep moving." I instructed and headed towards the tunnel on my right.

Everyone was behind me, or so I thought they were until Henderson started screaming bloody murder. Sof and I turned around and ran back down through the tunnel.

"Help! Help! Help!"

"Dustin!" Everyone started yelling as we all ran back into the clearing.

"What happened?! What happened?" Sofie and I shouted as Dustin laid on the ground, screaming.

"It's in my mouth! Some got in my mouth! Shit!" He screamed and got on his knees.

Sofie crouched down and held onto his shoulder as he started coughing. After a few coughs he sat up and looked at us. He had pulled down his handkerchief.

"I'm okay." He whispered.

"Really?" Sofie snapped.

He nodded and started smiling until she pushed him and stood up.

"Are you serious?" I snapped.

"Very funny, man." Mike said and rolled his eyes.

"Nice. Very nice."

"Jesus, what an idiot."

We all rolled our eyes and started back towards the tunnel we were going through.

"Hang on. Wait, wait!" Dustin shouted from behind us.

I sighed and kept walking down the tunnel and looking down at the map.

"If Wheeler's map is correct, we should be coming up on this 'hub' any minute now." I whispered to Sofie.

She nodded and continued to flash her flashlight towards the walls of the tunnels.

After a few minutes of walking, we came up on another clearing. I looked around and made a note in my head to make sure we had taken the same directions as the map. Once I had somewhat of an idea that we were right I looked up.

"All right, Wheeler. I think we found your hub." I announced.

Everyone looked around once again like we had before. I finally knew what Sof and Wheeler had been talking about back at the house. All the tunnels really did feed into this one spot. There was a stub in the very middle of the hub and that was what was connecting all the tunnels together.
