Training/Departure x

I'm rudely awoken by my annoying alarm at 9, training starts at 10:30 and we don't finish till 2 today which is absolutely brilliant, not. I pull myself out of bed and into the shower then get changed for training, grab my boot bag and go downstairs for breakfast. I eat my breakfast and just sit comfortably in my own silence just staring out of the window that overlooks my back garden. My phone buzzes and when I pick it up, it's not something I expected to see.

I stare at my phone for a while wondering if she's genuinely looking out for me or if she just doesn't want it to be awkward at training, I don't want to completely shut her out I just need some time, I best reply before she thinks I'm ignoring her.

morning, yeah I slept alright hope you did too, see you soon

Time ticks by as I'm still sat in the same comfortable silence from before, soon enough it turns 10 so I get in my car and drive to training 

Beth: "morninggggggg" she says enthusiastically 

Alice: "wow you're in a good mood"

Beth: "ay I'm always in a good mood but also it's team selection day for England today for the euros so I'm that bit more excited"

Alice: "oh is it, I didn't even know"

Beth: "you'll get selected Al"

Alice: "Beth this isn't a time for joking around"

Beth: "I ain't joking I genuinely think you'll be selected"

Alice: "alright let's not boost my ego, let's head inside"

They walk into the changing room together and most of the girls are already here, Leah hasn't lifted her head up once since I walked in 

Lotte: "who's excited for team selection day"

Alice: "Beth is I know that"

Viv: "don't, when she realised what day it was this morning she was like a child at Christmas"

Beth: "there's nothing better then representing your country"

Katie: "she's got a point"

Jen: "do you think you'll get selected Alice, you're such a good player"

Jess: "hopefully not" she mumbles 

Leah: "oh shut up Jess you're so boring" 

Kim: "alright guys let's not, come on we need to head out now"

I send Leah a small smile to let her know I appreciate what she said and she sends me one back 

Jonas: "morning guys so we will be doing some small 5 aside games today but the main focus is the gym to keep our fitness up, team 1 for 5 aside will be Zinsberger, Williamson, Catley, Little and Smith then team 2 will be D'angelo, Wubben-Moy, White (Jess), Walti and Mead"

Beth: "as if I'm on a team with her" she whispers to Alice

Alice: "glad it's you and not me" she whispers back 

My team are winning the game of course, I see Kim is in free space so I play her the ball and the next thing I know I'm on the floor in excruciating pain coming from my ankle 

Leah: "what the fuck was that"

Beth: "what the hell Jess there was no need for that"

Leah: "can you get up Alice" she kneels down beside me
