Chapter 2.10
Waiting for Bates all day was awful. There weren't any patrols that we had to look out for, so Adonis and I sat around all day with the horses. They seemed to be fine underground, and they just sat there quietly. On the other hand, Adonis was grumbling and moaning the entire time.
Val, I'm so bored. All I've been doing day after day is sitting around doing nothing.
"That's what we were doing before, and you didn't seem to have a problem then," I said as I rummaged through the bag I had taken off of Adonis' saddle. I pulled out Corbett's diary.
Are you going to read to me? He asked hopefully.
"I guess if you insist. Let's see, which part do you want me to read?" I asked. We had already read the whole thing twice, and it was amazing everything Corbett had done. He managed to rally the Warriors together despite them all hating each other in the beginning and to overthrow a corrupt council during his first bout as a Warrior. Once that happened, he and the others created a secret fifth Academy somewhere off the coast to help with the training of the next Warriors. I had never heard about it before which was the main point.
Let's begin with the part of when the fifth Warrior appeared and they almost destroyed the first Academy.
"Of course you would pick that part," I muttered and flipped through to the correct page. "Day: Who cares anymore. Well, Gavin is definitely going to have my head this time. I'm supposed to keep everyone in line, but no one wants to listen to me. Tabitha just tries everything she can to get in my way of keeping control, Daniel just doesn't care about anything, Lindsay provokes Tabitha until she snaps at me, and Colby, oh don't even get me started about the new Colby.
Colby has been here for one day. She arrived this morning with her Dragon Jasmine, a marvelous purple Dragon who actually gets along with Layla very well. The two were talking to each other using the mind link all day and are planning on a trip to the lake tomorrow. Colby on the other hand is just uncontrollable. This woman is even crazier than Tabitha.
Personally, I liked Colby. I think she even liked me a little. The other three, however, Colby hated. It didn't help that shortly after meeting her Tabitha called her an uncultured runt. It also didn't help that Colby showed up covered in soot and mud. She looked like she hadn't bathed in months and smelled worse than the Dragon stalls. Colby also doesn't even reach my shoulders height wise. Colby took this to heart because, as Jasmine told Layla, Colby has a very short fuse. That is how we found out that Colby can create these bursts of energy. It looks as if the air is rippling, and then there is a mini explosion when it comes in contact with something. Colby sent one Tabitha's way, and Tabitha barely got out of the way as the energy wave continued on to hit the Academy's walls causing a large explosion which shook the ground. Thankfully only a chunk of the Academy was damaged.
Well, Tabitha took this to heart and dove at Colby and the two began get into a fight with bursts of energy going everywhere as Tabitha created illusions in Colby's mind so the energy waves were fired in many different directions. By the time I was able to separate the two, about five more chunks were taken out of the Academy and all of the students were evacuating in fear of it collapsing.
Well, Headmaster then demanded us to have a group talk session because he realized what a mess we were. The rule was that no one was allowed to use any of his or her powers. It was basically three hours of constant arguing, and a fight almost broke out at least three times. By the time it ended, I was ready to just quit and run away to the mountains. The only thing that came out of it was that everyone was exhausted from the fighting that they decided to go their separate ways in an uneasy truce." I paused as there was a thick black line drawn under that line.
