Chapter 3.1

"Have you heard the rumors? They say that the Metallic Riders will be coming to Landile soon!"

"Really? Tell them to hurry up. I can't stand these New Order thugs."

"Quiet, or they'll hear you. They punishing anyone who even speaks of the rebel Riders."

"Let them hear me. They'll be here soon. They just freed Bonnaville a couple days ago. That's why those Riders came by. They were pushed from Bonnaville by the Riders."

"They say that Silver Rider is almost six feet tall, and the golden Dragon's scales shine even in the dark."

"I heard that the Rider has trained at the tops of the mountains and grew used to the moisture up in the clouds, so he tends to attack on days with rain."

"Moron. They say that the Rider is the most beautiful dame in all of the Lands."

"Shush, the guards are coming." The group went silent as a couple of guards came walking by without paying them any attention. After all, they were just a couple of women washing clothes out in the sun. While the group continued to talk after the guards passed, a single figure made its way past the women having heard the whole conversation. A smile grew on its face as it heard everyone's conversations. They were all talking about the Metallic Warriors and how they were anticipating their arrival. It would definitely be soon. The amount of guards increased every day, and now there were almost twenty within the city as well as ten Dragons. Of those ten Dragons, seven were from the Academy. That meant at least half of them would surrender at the sight of the Metallic Army. That's how it went nowadays. The Metallic Warriors would come, and all of the noble Academy students would turn themselves in. After a questioning, they would be allowed to escape or join the Army. Heaven knows the Metallic Riders needed more numbers for what they were planning in just a couple of days.

"Did you hear that the Silver Rider has two generals to help out? They say that one of them is tall and handsome, really fitting of a general who comes up with some outrageous plans to help them win even when it was only five against ten?" The shadow's smile grew wider. That sounded about right. "They say the other one was an outlaw from over in Heathen and that he's a hermit with beady eyes."

"Hey! I heard that the one from Heathen is the better strategist. And his eyes aren't beady. They sparkle just as much as the Golden Dragon's scales," the shadow butted in. The group looked up at him with suspicion. There were two men and a woman in this group.

"Who are you?" The woman asked.

"Just someone who happens to be an expert on the Metallic Warriors who is passing through."

"If you're an expert, do you know what they are planning next?"

"Of course. They plan to hit Landile sometime in the next few days and set up a base here for their next plan of attack."

"That's what everyone else is saying. That doesn't make you an expert."

"Well, the rest is confidential, so I can't go into detail, but after Landile, expect something really big to happen. Like, it's going to shake the Lands big." With that the shadow slipped away and continued his way. He had a lot of information to gather before coming up with the plan. It had to go smoothly before they could even think about their next target. "And I most certainly do not have beady eyes," it muttered.

It was really loud. It was always loud the night before an attack on a village, and everyone was anticipating the next attack. I tried to focus on the task closest, but even I was nervous for the plans after Landile. Landile would be easy, Bates promised that, but the next target would be our hardest one yet.
