Blissful Bite ─ Venti x reader

I hope I showed how deeply mistrusting the mc was and how she definitely wasn't totally paranoid (jk). She's a really paranoid, unreliable narrator and twisted the perception once or twice, at least. Even if in the most obvious ways. However, despite how unlikable she would be irl, I hope her frustrating actions were entertaining 🫡

(It was actually a great practice after reading Cruel prince - Holly Black and The poppy war - Rebecca F. Kuang since both had a unreliable narration. Besides, I am also writing a original world for fun so this was a nice testing ground on how mean and unmoral mc's are perceived and viewed)

Anyways, yes, I prewrote so much of this, haha.

And did y'all see all of the subtle hints and foreshadowing I put in? In chapter 20, when they collected herbs, Y/n was collecting, and those were for Sucrose preparation to kill Y/n in case she'd stay with Venti. (Different kind of "I'll protect you at every cost" kind of friendship which would be irl something anyone would avoid. In her narrative she protected Y/n)

Since Sucrose figured Y/n would end up as a sacrifice, she preferred the burden of having killed her over a senseless sacrifice as she thought. The "erosioned" treasure hunters were set free by Rhinedottr's second test subject, who was mistaken for Albedo.

Funny detail, Y/n mentioned that the water tasted weird. She trusted Sucrose sm, but this friend started to poison her 😭

Or the the parallel between the way Sucrose was viewed in Y/n and Ventis pov.

Also, did anyone notice the extremely subtle hints at the beginning towards time travelling and visions? Like with the lie about the thorn bush, which wasn't a coincidence, but Venti remembered a bit of it already when they met or the drawings. (Little detail here, hehe)

One of my favorite lines was:

"I'd take turns and steal opportunities until I'd grow old, wrinkled, and grey." - Y/n, chapter 20

"They were the heroes, and you turned into the villain they wanted to protect you from." - Lisa, chapter 30

"Freedom, just like hope, is something people create to feel a surge of control in their circumstances. Both sides of a product sought in dark times." - Venti, chapter 39

Fun fact I got the inspiration for Venti's line in a dream I had on the (11 of April 2024) I wrote it down since it fit the piece too well, for it not to be added.

This may forever be my underrated not so popular x reader, but it was the most fun plotting and getting my ideas out there, which might not make sense (I hope it did actually)

one of my regular commenters thought about the fact that a line was repetitive.

Basically, the repetition thing × 10 referred to the factor that every 10 chapters, something major happens. A little Easter egg and there was another thing, but I don't remember what it was actually. I could pretend I know, but I don't after drafting 40-plus chapters I lost sight. Anyway, this is fan fiction and not a professional book, so it doesn't matter as much.

I hope there aren't too many plot holes? Please 😭
