It was a typical training day, except they were at the Black Swan base they had visited last time. One room was a training room with mirrors lining one side of the room. That's where Sophie, Biana, Tam and Dex were training in various skills. Linh hadn't come because she was training with Marella at her house.

"I still can't believe they took Prentice..." Sophie murmured.

"Who knows what they'll do next," Tam muttered.

"The best thing we can do right now is to train for the worst," Sophie replied. They all nodded and resumed their training.

After several hours of rigorous training, Dex was making some doohickey and mumbling tech talk under his breath, glanced over to see Sophie demonstrating her telekinetic ability by lifting fifteen rubber balls into the air, with the others observing.

"How do you manage so many with such stability?" Tam asked casually.

"It's just practice," Sophie said, blushing, which caused her to lose focus and drop all the balls, sending them rolling away.

"I bet I could beat your record!" Biana exclaimed.

"Count me in if it's a competition!" Dex chimed in, putting his gadgets elsewhere.

However, Biana fell short of Sophie's record, managing to levitate only twelve at a time. Dex trailed closely behind her with eleven.

"I guess we all need more practice, huh?" Dex said, disappointed.

"This is the training room after all, so get to it," Sophie smiled while rolling her eyes at them.

"Why didn't you two compete?" Dex grumbled, upset that he lost against Biana.

"I'm busy practicing with Shadowflux. What if we need it when the Neverseen comes back?" Tam replied, beads of sweat forming on his forehead from concentrating.

"Aww, look, he's thinking about his best friends-" Dex began, but Tam cut him off.

"Best friends?" Tam exclaimed incredulously, his eyebrows furrowed, causing his Shadowflux to dissipate. He quickly redirected his focus, levitating a ball with telekinesis.

"Listen, I was just joking," Dex said while laughing, waving his arms in self-defense.

Their competition soon descended into chaos, with them throwing balls at each other with telekinesis and claiming victory.

"I've hit you five times! I win!" Biana exclaimed, disappearing to dodge.

"You can't just use your vanishing ability! I call foul!" Dex dodged another rubber ball.

"You can't call foul if there were no rules in the first place." Biana grinned, but then got hit by a rubber ball coming from Tam's direction.

"If my count is correct, I have six points." Tam said, levitating another ball.

Sophie stepped in between them, her expression deadly serious. "We should focus on-" She started, but was interrupted as a rubber ball hit her on the head.

Tam grinned from Sophie's annoyed expression. "Seven points now."

Her face flushed red from exasperation and embarrassment. "Well, I'm not even playing so it doesn't count."

Sophie lifted up three balls to throw at each of them. "Besides, here's what I think of your little game-" Sophie was interrupted again, this time by the sound of an alarm. The loud sound startled them, causing them to shield their ears and unintentionally release the balls.

"Hey isn't that the intruder alarm? Or was it the cave-in alarm?" Biana had to shout to be heard.

"No, it's the party alarm!" Dex yelled sarcastically.

"No, it's the 'I won the game' alert!" Tam rolled his eyes.

The alarm ceased and Granite's voice came over the intercom. "The Neverseen are invading the hideout, regroup at-" Granite's voice echoed before they heard him crashing to the floor.

Several tense seconds passed in heavy silence before they heard the last voice they wanted to hear. "This is Gisela speaking, Sophie. I would suggest surrendering yourself to me immediately. Unless you want Keefe to get hurt..."
