The gale of wind berated against the cliff side, where five figures stood, a disguised member awaited them, and led them to a secret hideout that had been carved directly into the heart of the cliff side. The entrance was a small unassuming door camouflaged by the cliff's natural features, opening into an expansive labyrinth of winding tunnels and spacious chambers.
The member was actually Physic, who they know is Livvy in disguise. "This is the main Black Swan hideout, all trusted members know of this hideout..." she continued telling them about the various rooms, at first Sophie enjoyed the tour, but as it dragged on all she could think about what the Neverseen were doing. What schemes could Fintan be planning? The cave walls and dim lighting didn't exactly help.
Sophie had stopped walking at some point. A voice broke through her thoughts, she turned around, Tam was the only one there, the rest of the group had gone on ahead. "Sophie, are you okay? You haven't been interested in any of the rooms... or said anything in a while," he said while fidgeting with the pin on his cape. Sophie's face flushed with red, she didn't know why she was blushing, she looked away. She had just noticed Sandor staring at them.
"I was just thinking... that we should be working on taking down the Neverseen." She picked out one of her eyelashes.
"Then let's make Physic take us to Mr. Forkle already. She can't take on all of us!" He had a mischievous look in his eyes. Sophie laughed at that. "Yeah, let's do it!" They speed walked to where the group had turned the corner a minute ago.
"Take us to him now!" Sophie brought out her daggers, she had been waiting for long enough. "Take you to who?" Physic stopped walking, she smiled knowingly.
"You know who we're talking about. We want to know what Mr. Forkle has been up to!" The rest of the group nodded their heads. "Yeah, or else we'll have to get serious," Tam said. They all surrounded Physic and annoyed her until she gave in.
Physic sighed. "Fine then, we can continue the tour later." She brought them to a discreet door hidden in the cave wall, opened it and revealed a room filled with books and stacks of papers, sitting behind the desk was Mr. Forkle in his ruckleberry disguise reading some papers. It looked like a crossover between a library and an office.
"Well, aren't you early?" He said without bothering to looking up. He tapped a pen against the desk. He's so annoying when he's being mysterious.
"They made me take them to you, also I have some leftover snacks waiting for me," she then left. Leaving Mr. Forkle to deal with the group's questions.
Over the noise he said, "You kids... ask me one at a time." He opened a drawer in the desk and put the papers away.
Sophie went first. "Yesterday, you said you were investigating something, what was it?"
Forkle looked at her, waiting a few seconds before responding. "After they had escaped, we were looking for any clues to track where they went, and discovered that there was a note hidden nearby."
From a secret pocket he pulled out a slip of paper and paused for dramatic effect before uncovering it with his hand. They all leaned in to read it:
