At a Glance
At 13 weeks pregnant, tiny bones are beginning to form in the arms and legs. Because s/he can move them in a jerky fashion, s/he may be able to get his/her thumb into his/her mouth soon — a habit that may come in handy for self-soothing when s/he's a newborn. Your baby's intestines are also in for some big changes.
As for you:
The second trimester is known for being the easiest and most comfortable of the three for nothing, though some women find that nausea and fatigue linger into the fourth and even fifth months. Most symptoms will go away. You will also experience heavier discharge known as leukorrhea, which is caused by the stepped-up production of estrogen as well as the increased blood flow to the pelvic area. Its purpose is noble: to protect the birth canal from infection and maintain a healthy balance of bacteria in the vagina. With all the extra discharge down there plus your burgeoning belly, you may be in the mood for sex a lot more or not at all, and either is normal. Do what is natural and comfortable for you.
It's official: August Walker is driving you crazy, and now you know why. Your hormones have returned to some kind of normal, and with it your irresistible attraction to him.
"Hey."
You gasp, looking up at him. You can smell him from your bed, delightfully masculine, with muscles flexed from exertion. He put up a gym in the basement the day after you moved in, saying all he was waiting for was that. "Good morning." Damn.
"I was going to pick up breakfast," he says. "What would you like?"
You throw your feet over the side of your bed and rise. "I can make something." You suddenly want to stay around him a little longer. It doesn't hurt to indulge in that, does it?
His eyebrows lift. "You're feeling better, then?"
"Yes, I am," you say with a small smile. "No more tea and toast, though I think I will miss it."
"I can do that anytime, love, anytime you like," he smiles suggestively. "If you like we can have a private tea party. Our private barbecues have gone well."
"Maybe," you flirt back, and blink, realizing you need to guard yourself. Sharing meals with him brought back familiarity and memories, and you need to keep your wits about you. "How about breakfast enchiladas?" You have a taste for something spicy,
"Heard of them," he frowns, but smiles mischievously. "Surprise me."
